QT stop being nasty and putting curses onto people by quoting scripture to suit your purpose of cursing another person by suggesting that they do not measure up to the plumbline of the scripture. We all fall short of God's requirements for our respective lives and beliefs.

Now, I have never said that I am "innocent," and I have suggested that we should all be teachable, but it seems like you do not want to be teachable and want others to blindly accept your understanding as being God's gospel truth.

All of this has come about because I dared to correct @Backlits suggested date setting for the Genesis 11:1-9 story of the scattering of the nations to a different time period more in keeping with the OT's actual timeline for this passage. I made no other comments on what he was saying nor did I dispute his or your claims as to the back story that you both were putting forward other than to request references so that your back story could be verified.

If that is a sin, then I am guilty of making the request for more reference information for your claims so that I could also verify the accuracy of your claims.

Perhaps if you had provided the reference sources, then this silliness of constant rebuttals on both of our parts would not have been needed.

@Jay Ross let me be clear here. I wasn't offering my original 5000 year reference as a standard for date setting. It was merely a generalisation to impart a sense of history regarding the longevity of the mindset that pervades current politics and religion within the UN, it's numerous offshoots and subsidiaries and related NGOs, as well as the Vatican. In other words, the ambitious goal to create a single world government under the aegis of a single global religion is neither incredible, or new. It's an idea that was spawned by Lucifer in heaven, and since the fall in Eden, has continued unabated since. You asked for biblical evidence for my contention. Okay.
KJV Genesis 11:1-4
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

So what was the reason for their building programme?
1. To protect themselves from any further flood, the evidence of which would have still been with them considering only 3 generations had passed.
2. Establish a city devoid of heavenly authority. God said to their great grandfather, go forth and replenish the earth. They said, let us stay here. This they were firing in essence a new religion based on self help and works. Even at a stretch the beginning of freemasonry. Same concept.
3. Make us a name. Self exaltation.

The above mindset is precisely that of the UN. Also that of the European union.

@Backlit from my study I constructed the following timeline diagram with respect to the story of the Tower of Babel. The actual timing for the construction of the tower and the scattering of the nations to all parts of the earth, is a best guess understanding. We do not know how many years was required for all the nations alive, at the time of the start of the construction, was required for all the nations to come to a common agreement to begin building the tower. Neither have I assumed that I know what the motivation for building the tower was either.

What I know from the Book of Jasher is that Nimrod was born to Crush in his old age. I can only assume that the second generation from Noah lived approximately the same length of time as the other people born into that particular generation. I also assumed that the third generation lived for around the same length as each other, and that it was not until the time of the exodus from Egypt that the length of a person's life became consistently no more than 120 years long.

This is the diagram that I constructed to help me understand how the story of the tower of Babel fitted into the story of the Bible.
