I like to chat and hopefully be an encouragement to others, have been frustrated because I have not known how to do this. But this may be an opportunity. I love to study God's Word etc.

So pleas post and we can fellowship together and encourage one another daily. (Hebrews 3:13)

Greetings Joy, and welcome to the Forum.

I'm not much of a chat guy, and I'm not heavily involved in this forum atm, but let me give you some ideas of how you could do this. We had another sister here who was posting on the following threads when they would be posted.
Bible Verse of the Day - June 2, 2021

If you want to focus just on encouragement, you could copy ones like the one for June 2nd above and paste them to this thread, because it's an encouraging one.

Then you can also post a meme with a scripture you find encouraging, and then invite others to participate in discussion about it; maybe friends you like here.@TLHKAJ

I was never one to simply chat much but then again once the door was open and my mouth was opened words would come out. Young, unmarried and without God it was a lonely sometime painful way to live. But...

Later this month my wife and I will celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary, a wonderful thing, but it could not have been if we had not met Jesus together in 1976. We both loved our two little toddlers at the time and they had held us together... but they were not enough to do what needed to be done. Jesus was enough and as an old hymn advises that Anchor [Jesus] can and does hold us fast in spite of many trials. As another old hymn puts it... He was there all of the time!

Give God the glory!

Bless The Lord Oh My Soul: Psalm 103:1-22.

Psalm 103 King James Version (KJV) 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Love, Walter and Debbie

Congratulations to you both on your 49th wedding anniversary.

I love the hymn

1 Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
when the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

Refrain:
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!

Psa 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Hugs

I love this verse Ziggy (love the name) you've no idea how appropriate this verse is to me at this time.

Definition of be means to be or grow firm or strong, strengthen

Definition of heart means : inner man, mind, will, heart

I love to look and try to understand the meaning of Bible words

Yeh and I've only been off five days. o_O I think it would be crossposting to recopy DBV's videos too... But yes. I like to post the scripture in the DBV's threads, because I know, like Pearl, cannot watch it. I am sure it encourages him to see discussion in his threads since he has posted them for a couple years now.

There is an encouraging scripture thread and worship music threads under the praise section. I know we all encourage one another. I have not been feeling myself this week, but glad to come see Joy on. :) Welcome

I thought about that, too. He seemed so encouraged. It's always a blessing to have inspiration to discuss the word together, so I hope he continues doing it...

I'm fighting with some moods myself lately, and don't really know what I have the stamina for anymore. I fought a battle recently that took it out of me in so many ways, so I'm wondering if the next move for me isn't just to go off and be with the Lord for an extended period of time; possibly a few years. Engaging with some Charismatics at another forum and I like discussing the word with them as well, but when it comes to the gifts there is only so much that discussion and debate can accomplish. They need to be manifested, or talk is cheap. But I'm worn down at the very time when I need to be manifesting more of Christ and not less...

It appears the battle I went through is won now, because the principle players have all but departed. Nevertheless, it's strange how you can win a battle and still feel like you lost somehow... Maybe I'm looking at the price I paid instead of what was won.

But yeah, his devotionals are good, and any interest in the word should be applauded and pursued. That's where our focus should always be first and foremost.

don’t ever feel discouraged after battles...it’s just time to refresh and renew your strength ....”In the Presence of the Lord is fullness of joy...” ..”and the Joy of the Lord is your strength...”

A time of praise and worship will renew your strength ....well done soldier...

But, you already know all this! :)

A good encouragement verse:

"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God." (1 Samuel 30.6)
