I’m not a Christian hence I had to post here. My observation is the discussion shows you all are missing something.
There was a second decree to rebuild those walls in 1535 by the Ottomans. It took almost all of the next 62 weeks before Jerusalem was reunited with Israel. The walls were built in troublesome times just as it reads. 7 weeks later you all saw the sign of the Virgin depicting the messiah being born. The 7 and 62 weeks make sense saying he comes after both. Isa 40:1 says the punishment on Jerusalem was doubled.
I know that doesn’t sit well with your various timelines but it’s a much more simpler way to interpret those 70 weeks.
