Gismys, have you read the very first post in this thread? I wrote it back in 2011. Isa 45:7 isn't the only verse that suggests God created evil.Who would want to think or say that Almighty God creates evil?? We see who creates evil every day and it is little sin loving men!!

Fully agree. Its not an easy topic. I could actually argue against myself on this one... But I would at least appreciate knowing and a demonstration od acknowledgement that they heard the arguement.Painful, isnt it? lol
Perhaps we have been here too long FHII.......
Disagreement with my pov is fine; dismissing it without reading it? Ugh
I thought of this post all evening.so there's one validation imo, lol
i don't conflate presenting us with a choice with God not being love or all-good though; darkness is separated from light.
So i would have to hear how that analogy is made first.
ha well we are not in a position to judge though--how do you know that we are not just calling neutral bad? What is evil exactly, anyway, iow? Define evil, and its subjective nature will be seen in the definition. Then we can answer "why evil?" and the answer is going to more or less be "because it is you who gets to define 'evil' there, differently than God defines it."

There's no answer in Job 42 or anywhere else...? i disagree, it was found. Chapter 42, Job repents. Twice.
Easily said.Evil is satan and man's creation and we see their and our new creations of evil each day!!
ha well, you are a mom, right, i'm sure the "denying self" lesson is different for a woman anywayFasting --- Can't do for different reasons. Wish I could.
ha, not sure how far i would go with that--the point there is maybe that we are told not to be too bad, or too good!Neutral is the bad.
Interesting.
or perhaps when you do not intervene, because i'm pretty sure God is not going to intervene; "it is finished."The bad is when God does NOT intervene.
hmm, must have been in another context; i don't perceive the Fall as "evil" anymore, as strange as that prolly sounds.I do know that evil existed BEFORE Eve took that first bite or she never would have. She just put it into our consciousness, as I've heard you say.
well, i know it defines you (one), wherever you put it.Really!!! you don't know???
ha well it is cryptic, sorry, should have quoted it i guessThere's no answer in Job 42 or anywhere else...
(at least, I don't find it there)
fwiw you might look for questions in there, and let them guide you, and leave the answers for people who know. For instance in 42, you might ask what Job is rebounding from (repenting of)There's no answer in Job 42 or anywhere else...
