John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Did Jesus take away the sin of the world? What does that mean?

Much love!

Marks, yes.

What that means is people are left with a choice like Adam and Eve. To eat from the knowledge of the tree of good and evil, or eat from the tree of life.

What does it mean to you?

It means the Gospel is better than many may think. The sins are gone, we only need be born again.

Much love!

YES
Not in the way you think.

Refer back to the words of JESUS = John 3:16-21

Sure, let us commit to seeing how John 3:16-21 answers both questions.
You don't need to bother me any longer. I'm interested in the exchange, not this merry-go-round. You just have too many posts that aren't actually responsive, and that gets old after a time.

Much love!

Matthew 12:31-32 KJV
31) Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32) And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

There is this one exception, those who said Jesus was casting out demons by the power of the devil, specifically that they were saying Jesus had an unclean spirit, de facto calling the Holy Spirit unclean.

Mark 3:28-30 KJV
28) Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29) But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
30) Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

Much love!

Did Jesus take away the sin of the world?

Yes. But not the way the world wishes.
Not by sweeping sin under the rug.
Not by universal forgiveness apart from faith.
Not by pretending evil doesn’t matter.
Jesus took away sin by bearing it, becoming it, and crushing it on the Cross.

> “He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” — 2 Cor 5:21
“Without shedding of blood there is no remission.” — Heb 9:22
“The LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” — Isaiah 53:6

But here’s the truth that cuts:
Sin has been atoned, but it has not been abolished.
The penalty is paid, but the personal application requires repentance and faith.

> “Behold, the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world”
...is an invitation, not a universal pardon.

Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice.
But only those who receive Him—who repent, believe, and follow—are washed clean.

> “He appeared once for all to remove sin by the sacrifice of Himself.” — Heb 9:26
“To as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God.” — John 1:12

So no—He didn’t erase sin for all mankind automatically.

He opened the door.
He bore the wrath.
He became the Lamb.

But every man must come to the Cross for that sin to be taken from them.

Otherwise, they still bear it.

> “If ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.” — John 8:24

Much love?
Yes.
Much truth?
Even more.

It's always a yes, but for most people.

Either he did or he did not.

Jesus was speaking Jews when he says a lot of things.
