I started thinking about this question again in the wake of the death of my niece's dog Simba.Our family is so broken hearted and I can't imagine that he won't be in Heaven...the very thought of that is hard to bear right now. Thank you all for your prayers.

Dogs have a very limited soul. They are unable to contain spiritual things. So that is why those who are so limited among men are referred to as dogs...in the sense of not being able to grasp higher things.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

I think Anamals do go to heaven when they die, but exactly how it works, I have no idea.

Then again, I've even asked myself if Bacterea have souls, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Anything is possable with such an amazing God!

Why do YOU credit others for YOUR "interpretation" of Scripture? YOU seem quite certain that there's a gap between what God intended and the prophets wrote, and of course YOU'RE here to clarify/correct/cancel/create new understandings which apparently defy existing dictionary definitions of words employed, and contextual boundries.

Jesus only did as He received from the Father, but he also said "greater things shall ye do". I just didn't expect in would be manifest here in this Forum under YOUR Authorship. Wow, -- I'm impressed!

I have a little dog, a cat. I love my little dog very much and his father to. But, I lost Buddy (the daddy) last December. He was a very special dog and my constant companion. It hurt to loose him and I was sadden and miss him very much.&nbsp;&nbsp;Yes, Buddy had a heart, he loved me and was protective of me, but I know he didn&#39;t have a soul because God made man in his likeness(not a monkey!) and gave him dominion over animals. I had a hen who followed me everywhere I went in the yard. She woke me every morning crowing, Honestly! she crowed wanting me to feed her. She would sit by me on the steps and cluck to me when I talked to her. Roberta was special and I was very fond of her. One morning there was no crowing and all we found of her was feathers. I still miss my feathered friend, but I know she had no soul.<br />
