Hi
@April_Rose,
What helps me most when I know that I have sinned, is the following doctrines.
We are not under the law (Romans 6:14), are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation.
Where there is no law (where it does not apply) there is no transgression (Romans 4:15). And sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). Iow, sin is not imputed where there is no law (Romans 5:13).
It does not mean that when we have sinned, we have not sinned; so that we would not need to confess it for restoration to fellowship; but it does mean that when we sin, God the Father no longer sees our sin but He sees the blood of Christ. He looks at our sins from the perspective of already having been forgiven.
To put it another way, the Lord justifies the ungodly person (Romans 4:5).
This means that He has given us an unshakable identity...that we are righteous...that can not be trifled with...not even when we blow it.
So, we are righteous because of Christ's shed blood. This is imputed righteousness. It means that we have an identity...that we are righteous...and this identity is unchangeable. It is based on our faith in Jesus and His shed blood. So as long as you have such a faith your righteousness cannot be shaken.
Now that you have this identity, go and live like it (1 John 3:7, Romans 5:19, Matthew 5:6).
