Question: If Rahab believed what she was told but did not do as she was commanded would she have been saved?but she did not receive the justification of her sins based on that work..
we can ot misinterpret James as saying this is what happened.
Joshua 2:18-21,
- unless, when we come into the land you bind this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down and unless you bring your father your mother your brothers and all your fathers household to your own home
So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street His blood shall be on his own head and we will be guiltless
and whoever is with you in the house his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him
And if you tell this business of ours then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear
Faith onlyist... could Rahab be saved if she only believed what they commanded her but did not obey/do what she was commanded?
This story proves that Rahab had faith in them and that her faith was a saving faith because she did the work of faith not believing with no obedience.
Faith apart from obedience to Gods commandments never saved anybody!!!!
