but she did not receive the justification of her sins based on that work..

we can ot misinterpret James as saying this is what happened.
Question: If Rahab believed what she was told but did not do as she was commanded would she have been saved?

Joshua 2:18-21,
- unless, when we come into the land you bind this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down and unless you bring your father your mother your brothers and all your fathers household to your own home
So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street His blood shall be on his own head and we will be guiltless
and whoever is with you in the house his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him
And if you tell this business of ours then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear

Faith onlyist... could Rahab be saved if she only believed what they commanded her but did not obey/do what she was commanded?

This story proves that Rahab had faith in them and that her faith was a saving faith because she did the work of faith not believing with no obedience.

Faith apart from obedience to Gods commandments never saved anybody!!!!

And those who are evil can do good to their families etc
Eternally Grateful's response to the unsaved doing good
That is human good. and God calls them bloody rags
Cornelius was also not saved but did good works.
Let's learn what the Bible teaches about the lost and the good works that they do,

Acts 10 chapter 1
- There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius a centurian of what was called the Italian regiment
a devote man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people and prayed to God always

....Your prayers and your alms(works) have come up for a memorial before God

- he is lodging with Simon a tanner whose house is by the sea, he will tell you what you must  do

Cornelius is a lost man in chapter 1 of Acts 10, yet he is seeking after God.

His good works are not viewed by God as filthy but as a good work!

Cornelius' good works is why God has sent His servant and apostle Peter to him, that Cornelius might here the gospel of Jesus Christ and be SAVED.

Alien sinners can do good works that God sees as good not filthy rags!!!

Op: Do you believe Spirit Baptism replaces water baptism?

I believe it Depends, Since God Has Three Different Baptisms under consideration:

In God's Previous Context Of Prophecy/Covenants/Law for ISRAEL, Yesterday!:

►►► The Twelve Were Sent to {water} baptize! ◄◄◄

The TWO Main (of 12 ) baptismS =

A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!":
(Matthew_3:5-6; Mark_1:4; Luke_3:3; John_1:31; Luke 7:29-30; Acts_10:37)
(Matthew_28:19; Mark_16:16; Acts_2:38, 22:16; Ezekiel_36:25; Isaiah 52:15)
+
B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders!
(Isaiah_44:3; Matthew_3:11; Mark_1:8, 16:17-18;
Luke_24:49; Acts_2:17-18, 38, 8:15-17, 11:16)

Prophecy/Covenants/Law for ISRAEL!

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ” (online)

In God's Other Distinctive Context Of Mystery/GRACE! (Romans - Philemon) =

our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST, Today!:

►►► Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?: ◄◄◄

Today:

Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION,
Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!!
(Ephesians 4:5; Colossians_2:12; Galatians_3:27;
Romans_6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13 KJB)

------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion: I believe "God's ONE Baptism 'By The ONE Holy Spirit' For The ONE Body of Christ,
Today, Under Grace/Mystery" Replaces Both:

"water baptism And The Baptism With The Holy Spirit, which were/will be under
God's Other program of prophecy / Covenants / Law for Israel!"

Amen.

What do you make of this? (scripture below)
Jesus said this in reference to the outpouring at Pentecost.
I had a previous topic that asked a serious question about this Baptism. (link below)

Acts 1:5 NIV
For John baptized with[a] water, but in a few days you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.”

Question.

if she had true faith in what she was told. Would she NOT do what she did?

you need to take the focus of work. And put it on faith..

This just shows that Cornelius was a seeker.

God did not send anyone to him because of his works. He sent them to him because of his faith.

He was a believer, he was not an unbeliever, an unbeliever would not seek..

a work is done to earn a wage (see romans 4)

if we do the work of being baptized to earn salvation

we are trying to earn salvation.

salvation is by grace through faith. not of works..
What about doing the "work" of confessing with the mouth as did the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 and as required by Romans 10:9? What's the difference? Both are required for salvation, but you accept one and reject the other? Why?

What does that mean? Scripturally, not in your words of explanation, but according to scripture
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

For we are His masterpiece, having been created in Moshiach Yehoshua for ma'asim tovim, which Hashem prepared beforehand, that the derech of our halakhah should be in them.[YESHAYAH 29:23; 42:7; 60:21;]

You said no explanation needed-saves me a whole lot of trouble-which is not trouble, really.

Faith AND work goes hand in glove-
This was proven to you from brother @Titus and from Scripture.
J.
yes, which is what I said.

why can;t you see this?

either way, we are saved by faith not by works.

anyone who says we are saved by faith plus works is teaching a false gospel.

Yes-we are saved by faith-and Christlikeness is accompanied with good works-why can't you see this? On what basis/grounds are we going to be judged?

By our faith?

Not following your logic in quoting this scripture as relates to the subject matter and your previous. Being created "in Christ" (meaning you've already been saved and have been baptized into the body of Christ), for good works is different than so-called "works" as others here reference the term and the subject of the controversy, which works are done prior to and a requirement of salvation such as are the things I've made mention of, like baptism, or confession of belief. The goods works done subsequent to becoming a Christian are the result of your faith as James makes note of.

Not being facetious.

What work did the tax collector do to be justified?

I confessed the lord after I was saved, not before..
