Johnlove I truly believe that you are sincere but you are sincerely wrong.
For a start, you conveniently left out verse 13 which seriously messes with your doctrine of placing the Scripture second after the Holy Spirit's
personal revelation.
Which I might add He never does apart from Scripture, but you don't know that because you clearly cannot interpret Scripture properly.
Furthermore, you discredit the power of the word of God as weak and ineffectual, again because of your ineptitude to rightly divide the
word of truth.
So, let me flesh this out for you.
1) Conveniently ignoring verse 13 of 1 Cor 2, so I'm going to quote it here for you to ponder on,
And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual
With what does Paul say that the Spirit of God reveals to us the deep things of God ?
Words ... words, that do not come from man's human wisdom but words which He the Holy Spirit sees in the depths of God.
And what words are these ?
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Pet 1:21
And if you continue reading all the way to 2 Pet 2:21 you discover what that word was/is,
For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment
delivered to them.
What word was delivered to them by the Holy Spirit ? ... the Holy commandment ! ... The word of God, the Scriptures.
This is the "deep things" which the Holy Spirit sees in the heart, mind and will of God and then reveals to mankind.
The Holy Spirit does not set the word of God aside, when He speaks, He speaks the word of God.
To confirm this with another Scripture let's turn to Zech 7:12,
They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the LORD of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the
former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the LORD of hosts.
The revelation of the deep things of God which the Holy Spirit delivers are the "words of the Lord of Hosts", the same thing that 1 Cor 2:13 says.
And those words are the word of God, the Bible, the Scriptures.
You have to be incredibly spiritually blind not see this.
2) The word of God is weak and ineffectual in aiding a person to break free from sin as per your viewpoint.
Let me quote your incredibly ignorant statement;
Now tell me how many people do you know of, that believe the bible will bring one to know God,
have stopped sinning?
So you don't believe that the word of God has any power to transform a persons life ?
Are you for real ?
What Bible do you have, no, seriously, I would like to see your copy because it definitely isn't the same as the rest of our Bibles no matter the
translation.
For a start let's look at 1 Pet 1:22 - 23,
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,
since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;
The word of God is what got you born again and obedience to it purifies your soul !
Purifies your soul, purifies your soul, purifies your soul, purifies your soul, purifies your soul, purifies your soul, purifies your soul !!!!!!!!!!
But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were
committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations.
For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as
slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
Obedience to the standard of teaching - the word of God - given to us by Paul from the Holy Spirit leads to sanctification.
YOU have to OBEY the word of God, an act of YOUR will, and when YOU DO IT, YOUR obedience to will sanctify you.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning
the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:12
The word of God is living, it's alive, it's not dead and weak.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. John 6:63
The word, said Jesus is spirit and is life ... life, life, life, life, life, life !!!!!!!!!
that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, Eph 5:26
What sanctifies/cleanses you ?
The word, when you read the word and do the word it cleanses you, it sanctifies you, sets you apart from sin.
I could spend the whole day quoting Scripture after Scripture but I'm going to end it here.
Lastly, I honestly do want to thank you, I have so enjoyed this short Bible study, keep it up, keep throwing your outrageous unbiblical theories
my way, they give me excellent opportunities to hone my Biblical studies as Paul said to Timothy,
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15.
Cheers Bro ;) and keep it up.
