Luther did not prune everything Catholic when he had left. Some Protestant churches today still use that word "sacrament" which was not a term for us to use as part of the traditions handed to us from the N.T. The term "sacrament" makes something more than what it is and since its origin is a reference to the works of Catholicism, all the more reason to drop it.

There is no need to use that term other than to allow error to continue and they are.

How many believe that communion is "holy"? And yet we see no use of that tern "holy" in regards to communion.

What is the big deal? Because some Protestants still believes that Christ's Presence is in the bread and the wine as if each time they take communion, they are receiving Him.

2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

To apply the scripture above to the communion service is how one reproves such false teaching.

Some will even begin communion service by saying " We come into His Presence today.." but that is not the truth and it is departing from the examination of our faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Should we not say what we mean since after communion, we are not walking away from His Presence and so thus there is no coming into His Presence when He is in us and is with us always.

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

So Protestant churches should not be using the term sacrament at all nor place "holy" with communion when it is only to be done in remembrance of Him which is anathema to the CC. We should say what we mean & not speak of anything that refers to the works of Catholicism.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
