I would suggest that you start loving yourself, Reggie - the Bible tells us to start with ourselves. You are a self loathing man, based on your posts. If Jesus preached your message he would have been lost to history, as would we.

I would not have to much faith in my fellow man, I have never seen such be a wellspring, Saints be phrased do not claim themselves to be anything more than they are but sinners with a handle on such.
My Grand Dad informed me of just how bad people were during the depression, your best friend would bash you just to get a job to shovel snow and then in WW2 he said that your life was not worth 2c and nowadays don't have even a moral standard worthy of jack, they kill un born baby's up to 9 months and they are taught to be proud of themselves, no dear aspen, in the Political leadership if you can not lie well, you will not become the leader of a political party and sadly the people like it that way.
Sadly most people can not handle the truth aspen and there whole life is a lie, spineless, gutless and just a creep show.
Jesus Christ was totally correct in everything he did and said and I put my faith in him totally.
Remember how the people treated Jesus ? totally innocent but they strung him up and had affection for the Sinful thief.
Jonny Cash has a good song that points that out, were you there the day that they, in fact he has plenty of great songs about the Lord Jesus. I believe he was truly born again Christian.
I believe people can be great people, but only if they have Jesus Christ truly in their heart and soul.

If people keep going the way they are Christ Jesus message is lost for sure.
When the day comes that our Children have to pay the price of the hell they are going to go through they will surely hate our generations before them for dropping the ball and idolising mans works. an evil and adulterous generation that does not have an excuse at all, but was temped like a mongrel dog.

My two cents concerning empathy. True empathy, just like love, comes from God. Our love is not the love of God. Even the worldly man loves. It is the love of God that we want to have and project. And that comes from Him.

Because we have the Spirit of God then we are able to experience the love of God and show that love, in proportion to our spiritual state. Love comes from God, and so, for man, love is always a response. We love to the degree that we experience the love of God via His Spirit and ours. It is a miraculous emotion. And it is affected by our spiritual condition.

Can man have true empathy for another? Yes, but only the Christian man who is walking in the Spirit, and, only if the Holy Spirit gives him that empathy for that person or persons. For the Spirit can relay to our spirit the exact feelings another is experiencing. And sometimes, the Holy Spirit can lay upon a believer or group of believers something another believer is experiencing so as to relieve that believer from something. And it is not necessary always that the believers know the who or why of this burden.

For example, true story. Years ago and a long way from home. I was a Christian but very depressed. The kind where your eyes are full of tears but you are not crying. But you know if you tilt one way or another they would roll out. It was night and I saw a small church and services were just starting. It was a non-denominational church that allowed the gifts of the Spirit to operate. I didn't know a soul there and no one there knew me. And I just sat down on the back row. I began to join in with the worship service. And I could sense this burden of depression being lifted from me. Not all at once, but it was being lifted.

The worship portion of the service ended and everyone was joyful in the Lord. Then they proceeded to give the announcements prior to the preaching service. There had been some event that weekend that the church had participated in and a lady was asked to give an account of it. She started with what a great success it was, but then she started crying. She stopped and said, I don't know why I'm crying as there was nothing sad about this event. She continued on but would cry at times during it. Then she turned it over to another to report on something, and they did the exact same thing. Then the pastor got up to say a few words before his sermon and he started crying. He then said, I don't know what the Spirit is doing tonight but He is definitely doing something. Well, I knew what it was as the burden I had was gone. The Spirit of God gave these people the very way I felt. They didn't know who it was for yet they had empathy.

So, I believe empathy just like love comes from God. And is experienced in proportion to ones spiritual walk with God.

Empathy is feeling the pain of your neighbor. Jesus had empathy for us in His ministry and even on the cross. Do you have empathy? Is empathy important to you? Is it important for us to develop empathy in ourselves and our children?

A hallmark of Narcissism is a lack of empathy........recently, Narcissism was removed from the DSM (the diagnostic manual, used to diagnosis mental illness and personality disorders) because it has become so prevalent in Western culture that it is not longer considered abnormal. So, it is now considered to be normal......

In my opinion, narcissists lead a diminished existence.....one that reduces emotions to fear and lust. It is antichrist. Without empathy, it is impossible to love. As Christians, we are called to love. So, since we have reached a crisis state of Narcissism.....are we losing our salt? Is Christianity failing?

Discussing love and scripture with someone who lacks empathy is a colossal waste of time......all you can do is pray for the individual......so let me know - i do not want to waste your time or mine

Empathy is said to be the most misunderstood and the one most difficult to translate through showing and not just telling. For instance: one can say they have empathy but saying it is easy. Showing empathy is another thing. Maybe I am rambling and this is not important BUT in taking a lesson on how to fully demonstrate ‘empathy’ through more than words, we only need to look at THE Great Author of all: John 3:16-17
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

1 John 4:9-10
[9] In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. [10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Now there is empathy fully displayed through showing not telling.

Empathy is synonymous with compassion. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another., but compassion is an emotion and an action. The Latin origin of the word compassion is "to suffer with". When a toddler bangs his head on the coffee table, the mother feels the pain too. hmm...

And that's why the people have left the Church in droves as they can get that type of mans works charity anywhere from the government.

But true Christians have a higher calling than that of the worldly government and the dregs of socialism or Political Correctness have no seed in them, they are dead works.

Well you can't bite back because it's true.
Natural man loves Sin and that's the whole problem.
I was talking to a whole bunch of Catholics last night at a political group trying to tackle new abortion rules that are coming to our State, nothing much we can do about it really as the Socialist just steam roll over all regardless but we live in hope that we can stop the madness of 22 week old abortions on demand.
Got talking about the RRC and said that I left the church when Pope Frances started all his crap that Islam is the same god that he believes in etc etc so the old blokes were saying about the people in their churches not to many that are switched on and they don't want to talk about Jesus much but other things, so no wonder the younger generations with an interest turn away.

The thing is that Jesus Christ is not in there lives and he hung on the cross is in vain to them, well it must be because they are lukewarm Christians if that and the government is looked up to as above all, don't want to upset the government do we, because Jesus never did ? did he ? yes they tried to kill him. such as they have no Empathy truly do they dear aspen.

Emotionalism is not empathy. In fact, it is difficult to express empathy rationally or emotionally.

Not sure I agree with that, given the the definition of "emotion". Being emotional by not be empathy, but empathy is an emotion.
