If you have Scripture quote it. I will assume you mean:

Romans 13:4
4 For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

"He" is not referring to YOU!
Yes, "he" is referring to us. As Christians in America, we formed an experiment in self-government. We, as Christians, make up the government via our choices in fulfilling our duties - corrupt as you say they are.

Jack claims he would forgive someone who murdered his family yet believes that person still needs to be punished.
Forgives yet still wants them punished, interesting
Yea. Sadly many are emotionally driven. @Jack is all over the place in this thread. All his CAPITAL letters and exclamation points!!!!! It shows how emotional he is. How dare a people execute their system of justice?!

@Moonwood doesn't even know what justice is and after 6,000 years of human experience, wants to debate what the word even means; we have no working framework to function in practice; certainly not in this case with Christa Pike.

It goes to show how an intelligent mind can rationalize anything.

I don’t define justice. It’s already defined.

And yes, justice either prevails or it doesn’t. Simple.

Another simple question is in this particular case, is justice under the law executing Christa Pike? Yes or No.

You're still assuming the point under dispute.

You say justice is "already defined," but you haven't actually defined what justice is. Instead, you're treating the execution itself as the definition of justice and then asking whether justice should be carried out. That's circular.

The very issue under discussion is whether justice, in this case, is exhausted by execution, or whether justice can include punishment while also leaving room for mercy, repentance, and concern for the offender's soul.

So when you ask, "Is justice under the law executing Christa Pike? Yes or No," you're not asking a neutral question. You're assuming that execution is the definition of justice and then demanding agreement with the assumption.

I acknowledge her guilt. I acknowledge the state's authority to punish wrongdoing. What I do not grant is your unstated premise that justice and execution are identical.

The question is not whether justice prevails.

The question is what justice consists of. Until that is established, a simple "yes" or "no" does not actually address the issue being debated.

You just promoted MURDER, again!
so you also believe Paul, John teh Baptist and Jesus promoted murder.
Did God have mercy on you? Why don't YOU give mercy???
God established civil government to maintain order on His planet. anbd part of that authority is executing those guilty of murdering someone else. It is not a question of me showing mercy. God forgave me, I would forgive others, but justice will be done. If it is life in prison then that is it, if it is execution then that is it. It has nothing to do with Gods mercy, but gods justice.
So you're ok with dropping nukes on Japan MURDERING thousands of innocents? For Uncle Scam!
And you are okay with Germany invading Europe and killing millions, Japan would have invaded the US and killed millions, and Russia has killed hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. You are okay with that for you refuse to let governments protects its own citizens.
IOW YOU don't have any! There is ZERO excuse to murder innocent people! That's exactly what Satan's children do!
Stop being so lazy. If you do not know these verses, I take it you are a novice Christian and are fairly unfamiliar with Scriptures.

But because you do not know how to use bible gateway:

Luke 3:14
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. (viole3nce does not mean murder BTW)

Read Acts 10 and Peter and Cornelius. Cornelius was a Roman officer and Peter in all the conversation not once mentioned to not kill people.
Again you're promoting MURDER for Uncle Scam!
Nope, for God!

Genesis 9:5-6 King James Version

5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

You are just too myopic and benighted to see this is God establishing rules for civil government for the whole world.

There is murder
There is war This is not murder, unless one willingly kills innocents.
and there is executing those guilty of murder in obedience to Gods command. this is not murder

Killing humans is NEVER justice.
Read the Sermon on the Mount.

Promoting killing human beings goes against the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The essence of death penalty is really a legalised vengeance: ‘you killed, so we're going to punish you by killing you’.

That's against the dignity of human beings.

BINGO!

Nope, for God!
Peter also didn't mention to NOT rape women also.

I do understand. You are approving of MURDERING innocents! NO MERCY is what you're preaching. And you will reap what you sow on Judgment Day!

Jas 2:13 He will have judgment without mercy who has shown no mercy!

Already done even though I suspect, not proven guilty to your satisfaction.
The only one you've proven guilty is YOU.

Matthew 7:1-2
1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Well according to all your rantings you do! and no amount of denying it changes that simple fact. Gode commanded that if a person takes another persons life- their life should be forfeited because the murdered soul was made in teh image of God. Take it up with God . Even Paul spoke of Government not being the sword in vaind. They don't carry a sword to make shish-ka-bobs or smores!
Again you approve of MURDER!

YOu call it that, the bible calls it something else.
Nope, Christians don't approve of MURDER as you are doing.
Show me the vewrse where it says Christians should not approve of cap[itol punishment for a muderder.
I know them. I KNOW you're twisting them to promote MURDER!
Thats what you say, the bible says different.
Now go look up the word violence! Nah, I will give it to you. I think you are too lazy to do that.

Luke 3:14

  1. to shake thoroughly
  2. to make to tremble
  3. to terrify
  4. to agitate
  5. to extort from one by intimidation money or other property

nowhere in teh definition does it forbid killing. Ignorance is not bliss.

The bible, kuran, Bagvhad Gita and other holy books all make a clear distinvtion between murder and killing- you should also

Jas 2:13 He will have judgment WITHOUT MERCY who has shown no mercy!

Sounds just like YOUR doctrine! WITHOUT MERCY!

God loves JUSTICE and commands us to do JUSTICE. Why do you disobey God?
Mercy is disobeying God? Scripture please! Why do you WANT to kill people and send them the HELL FIRE?

You need a new bible. I hope you receive more mercy on Judgment Day than you give!

Scrioture has already repeatedly been provided. Mercy is not always the divine prerogative. Justice is loved by God - not mercy. We are commanded to do justice first, not mercy.

It’s disgusting that you literally want people to get away with MURDER!!

No it hasn't!

But you don't even know what "Justice" means! It sure doesn't mean killing people for UTTERLY CORRUPT LYING judges and prosecutors!
It’s disgusting that you literally want people to get away with MURDER!!
How is putting them in prison letting them get away with murder? Why do you want to kill people who may be innocent?
