This verse goes onto say if we walk in the light we have fellowship with one another. Fellowship is not shaking someone's hand and saying "How are you" and you reply "fine." That is two ships passing in the night. Fellowship is not looking at the back of people's heads. Fellowship is taking time to be involved in one another's lives and stepping in if needed to help and care.

If this is not happening, then I guess we can say we are walking in darkness. But this is rarely addressed because if we do, we might have to change the way we go about things and that may require effort on our part.
Yes, good.
"Laying down their/our lives for one another daily"....... in reality, in truth, considering other's needs FIRST, before our own, and even not considering our own lives as something to be protected/saved from execution.... trusting our lives wholly in the Father's hands, as our Savior lived and died , so do we...

One step at a time, a whole life devoted in Jesus to fellowship: worthychristianbooks dot com/a-plain-account-of-christian-perfection/
"In the year 1729 1 began not only to read but to study the Bible, as the one, the only standard of truth, and the only model of pure religion. Hence I saw, in a clearer and clearer light, the indispensable necessity of having the mind which was in Christ, and of walking as Christ also walked; even of having not some part only, but all the mind which was in Him; and of walking as He walked, not only in many or in most respects, but in all things."
