The 144,000 are identified by John as virgins. Revelation 141And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. …….for they are virgins. The reference to virgins, concerning the 144,000, is not that they are virgins. Virgins is a feminine label. Can a woman be a eunuch? No, because it is a title for a person that has a certain responsibility that can only be filled the male gender. Similarly, virgin is a title that is meant exclusively for individuals of the female persuasion. So there has to be another explanation. The Bible uses catchword that tie the different prophetic scriptures together. In this case the word virgins is a catchword. You need only go to your concordance and find another reference to virgins to get an explanation. And the answer is:Matthew 25The Parable of the Ten Virgins 1"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' 7"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 9" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' 10"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' 12"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.' 13"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. The Parable of the Ten Virgins is a message explaining about a group of individuals that will be alive at the second coming of Christ. The parable clearly states that half of the individuals will not qualify.Zechariah confirms this account.Zechariah 14The LORD Comes and Reigns 1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. 2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle.1,152,000 men and women will be on Mt Zion for the duration of the GT. Half of this number will not make it.All of the 144,000 men will make it. In Yehoshua,Guy Smithhttp://www.geocities.com/guysmith123/144000

Hi Guy,Yes, very good. They are "spiritual" virgins, not "literal" virgins. As the book of Revelation states, "they have washed their robes and made them white".Rev 7:14 "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."And NOTE: There are TEN Virgins in that parable. Possibly denoting the "Lost 10 Tribes of Israel"? Kim

(crooner;25827)
converted Jews?
The Jews have already been converted (those who will that is). Then there are the "Messianic Jews" who believe Jesus fulfilled the prophesies of the coming Messiah.James 1:1 "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the TWELVE TRIBES which are scattered abroad, greeting."Here's James is addressing ALL 12 Tribes which had been converted to Christianity, already. For further Reference, read the books of Messianic Jew, Michael Brown. The best one is "What do Jewish People Think about Jesus?"He, as a Jew, does not believe in the "ALL JEWS will be converted after the days of the tribulation", etc. He believes that all who will be converted have been. The rest of the Jews continue to "reject" Jesus.Kim

This is possable Guy as the virgins have all accepted ChristThe bridegroom is Christ, and all ten of the virgin maidens are Christians and are going forth to meet the Bridegroom. Ten in Biblical numerics represents "law, and responsibility". The law is still on the books for us, and we have the responsibility to serve the true Christ. Though the parts of the law that pertain to the blood sacrifices are ended with Christ shed blood on the cross, the rest of the law is a vital part of every society, no matter how primitive. The subject here then is to remain a true virgin, spiritually, waiting on the true Christ, and not to be take by the wrong Christ. All ten of these virgins are Christians, and claim to be in this generation, The ten so called lost tribes left N.Israel went over the caucaus Mt to Scotland, then Britian spread across Europe and eventually came to America Another Words most Christians are the 10 Lost tribes so the vigins could be sybolic of this fact(Judah is the tribe known as the Jews today they lived in South of Israel with a mix of Benjamites and Levites)The thing about these 10 virgins is only five were wise the other five were foolish so half will be lost before the Bridegroom Christ comes for his Bride.
