The 144,000 are identified by John as virgins. Revelation 141And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
.for they are virgins. The reference to virgins, concerning the 144,000, is not that they are virgins. Virgins is a feminine label. Can a woman be a eunuch? No, because it is a title for a person that has a certain responsibility that can only be filled the male gender. Similarly, virgin is a title that is meant exclusively for individuals of the female persuasion. So there has to be another explanation. The Bible uses catchword that tie the different prophetic scriptures together. In this case the word virgins is a catchword. You need only go to your concordance and find another reference to virgins to get an explanation. And the answer is:Matthew 25The Parable of the Ten Virgins 1"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!' 7"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.' 9" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' 10"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!' 12"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.' 13"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. The Parable of the Ten Virgins is a message explaining about a group of individuals that will be alive at the second coming of Christ. The parable clearly states that half of the individuals will not qualify.Zechariah confirms this account.Zechariah 14The LORD Comes and Reigns 1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. 2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle.1,152,000 men and women will be on Mt Zion for the duration of the GT. Half of this number will not make it.All of the 144,000 men will make it. In Yehoshua,Guy Smithhttp://www.geocities.com/guysmith123/144000
