Yes, no one comes to Jesus unless God calls them.

God is in Heaven.

Its the Holy Spirit who was given at Pentecost, who offers a person the choice to trust in Christ.

This is what Jesus meant when He said......>"Draw ALL people to ME".

Otherwise, natural man cannot understand the things of God.

Any unbeliever can hear the call of the Holy Spirit in their heart..... that reveals to them that they are a sinner, needing Salvation.

This is "i will DRAW all people to me".

As the passage says no one has ascended to Heaven but the one who came down from Heaven.

Catholics teach that Mary ascended to heaven in her dead body.
That didnt happen.

However, the born again Spirit leaves the body, upon death of the body, and goes to Heaven.

You can do a verse study if you have time..........as Paul says its better to leave the body and to be preasent with the Lord.

I trust Jesus and know what he said is eternal and unable to be overruled by false teachings.

False teaching does not overrule what is eternal truth, it just leads people to look towards the wrong source for their nourishment. God told Abraham that his descendants would be a blessing to all the people who chose to inhabit His fertile soil/field.

Shalom

Forgiveness is always conditional upon repentance.

No repentance, no requirement for us to forgive.

Which leaves us with how do we handle our feelings etc. We copy Jesus, who on the cross did NOT forgive his crucified but rather prayed to his Father asking him to forgive them.

Then, what if the Father granted Jesus's request to forgive them, regardless of whether they actually repented or not?

Or will you take the position that Jesus's request just a pretense?

Forgiveness is always conditional upon repentance.

No repentance, no requirement for us to forgive.

That's false doctrine.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. (forgive us in the same way we forgive others)

Matthew 6:15 If ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Yes, let's make the decision to forgive others even as the Lord has forgiven us.

Luke 6:37 Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

But hey, don't let what the Lord says get in the way of the deception the devil has sown in to your thinking.

What of a family member who holds grudges or bears false witness about you and lies to you? Even so, this family member does not in general ever own up to her own issues but always points the finger. I don't remember her ever taking responsibility for her lot in life. She will slap the olive branch from your hand every time, it's so very difficult to continue to try this over and over to no adieu. All it does is bring back all the negative feelings and the reminders of what she has done hence, I get upset all over again. The bible says to get along with all men, as far as it is up to you...I feel I have done my part so many times but have to back off as it brings nothing but sadness AND anger! HATE those emotions and do not wish to continue in this vein.
One of the books I read defined "forgiveness" is the attitude that the offense will not stand in the way of restoring the relationship. The restoration of a busted relationship, reconciliation, is a separate (but related) topic.
I brought up "reconciliation" because it's not the same as forgiveness.

"Forgiveness" is unilateral; it is a decision you make. "Reconciliation" takes both parties. I think that is where changes of attitude and changes of behavior come into play.

@Nancy, you can only control your own mindset. I don't think that relationship is salvageable unless the other person makes some changes.

The Key to forgive the unforgivable person, is to say "i forgive you" outloud .

So, we forgive, by intention......by meaning to try........by offering it the best we can, when we speak the words... "I forgive YOU".

If you dont feel the forgiveness.......dont worry about it.
God is not looking for your feelings, He's looking for our obedience, and sometimes we will not like it.

Excellent brother!

And the negative feelings in time will fade away.
