Hi
Just a little confused about James 2:5, as it say's

Listen my beloved brothers has God not chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and to be heirs of the kindom..

This sounds like predestination? But if God has given us free will, how can it be.. can anyone help.

We freely choose according to the reasons we base our choices on. God sends and uses these reasons to control our free choices.

These are tendencies. There are exceptions to these of course. Like the difficulty of a rich man to enter into the kingdom. Hard....but not impossible. :)

One God ~
One man ~

Two Parties.

God ~ All Knowing.
Man ~ NOT All Knowing.

God KNOWS every THING about every man.
Man KNOWS NOT every THING about himself, about God, about other men, about the world.

God KNOWS what every man WILL, think, say do, not do IN every second of every mans life.

God does NOT "WAIT" to SEE what a man WILL think, do, choose, reject, etc.

God HAS "PREPARED" a "PLACE" for every man that has or will exist.

God HAS "REVEALED" "Places" He has "Prepared" for ALL of mankind.

Men have the FREEWILL to hear, learn, anything they Freely chose.
Men have the FREEWILL to hear, learn, and Follow and or/ Believe anything they Freely choose.

God has given man a guideline for mankind.
Men Freely can ACCEPT Gods guidelines, OR NOT.

REGARDLESS of what men Freely Choose, moment to moment, day to day, year to year,
Simply Notifies the man himself of the direction of his own personal life.

God Already KNOWS; Has PREpared a Specific PLACE for every man.

Yes, there IS PRE-"DESTINATION".
God Absolutely KNOWS, where EACH individual man "IS" Destine to occupy WHICH of the Particular Places, God Has Prepared.

ANY man, can ALSO KNOW his OWN PLACE of Where he personally is DESTINE to occupy,
BASED on "the mans OWN FREEWILL choices".

A Man WHO ELECTS to be MADE WHOLE (body, soul, spirit) has a FOREVER Destiny "WITH" thee Lord God.

A Man WHO ELECTS to REJECT thee Lord God, has a FOREVER Destiny "WITHOUT" thee Lord God.

Point being ~
Thee Lord God knows a mans Destiny even before the man IS naturally born.

Point being ~
An individual Does Not KNOW, what he shall Choose as his destiny, until he lives and hears, learns, and makes his own choices of what he desires for his own Destiny to be.

Glory to God,

The problem is the KJV

James 2:5 New International Version (NIV)

5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

I would work to make your calling and election sure and maybe not worry too much about whom God might have "predestined" right away, at least until you have figured out the pluck it out and toss it from you thing. And let the blind lead, the blind

We should always keep Scriptures within context, as well as within the context of the doctrine involved.I will quote from the KJV, since your version actually misrepresents what is taught:

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

The context is the partiality of some Christians towards the rich and their discrimination against the poor. James says that is unacceptable because God sees that the poor are rich in faith, whereas the rich are poor in faith.

Scripture teaches us that the rich find it very difficult to enter the Kingdom of God because (1) wealth is their idol and (2) they are unable to turn away or repent of their idolatry and turn to Christ (forsaking their wealth if necessary). Not so with the poor. But that does not mean that God elects or predestines the poor for salvation and the rich for damnation.

Good post. Brings this to mind:
Ephesians 2:10, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
