Many ask, what does the church need to grow and flourish in these last days? Why are so many languishing and falling away from truth? Why does the gospel no longer have the power of once did? Ellen White answers...

There is need of prayer, earnest, fervent, agonizing prayer, such prayer as David offered when he exclaimed, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God." "I have longed after Thy precepts." "I have longed for Thy salvation." "My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God." [Psalm 42:1; 119:40, 174; Psalm 84:2.]
Those who teach and preach the most effectively are those who wait humbly upon God, and watch hungrily for His guidance and His grace. Watch, pray, work—this is the Christian's watchword. The life of a true Christian is a life of constant prayer. He knows that the light and strength of one day is not sufficient for the trials and conflicts of the next. Satan is continually changing his temptations. Every day we shall be placed in different circumstances; and in the untried scenes that await us we shall be surrounded by fresh dangers, and constantly assailed by new and unexpected temptations. It is only through the strength and grace gained from heaven that we can hope to meet the temptations and perform the duties before us.
It is a wonderful thing that we can pray effectually; that unworthy, erring mortals possess the power of offering their requests to God. What higher power can man desire than this,—to be linked with the infinite God? Feeble, sinful man has the privilege of speaking to his Maker. We may utter words that reach the throne of the Monarch of the universe. We may speak with Jesus as we walk by the way, and He says, I am at thy right hand. [See Psalm 16:8.]
We may commune with God in our hearts; we may walk in companionship with Christ. When engaged in our daily labor, we may breathe out our heart's desire, inaudible to any human ear; but that word cannot die away into silence, nor can it be lost. Nothing can drown the soul's desire. It rises above the din of the street, above the noise of machinery. It is God to whom we are speaking, and our prayer is heard.
Ask, then; ask, and ye shall receive. Ask for humility, wisdom, courage, increase of faith. To every sincere prayer an answer will come. It may not come just as you desire, or at the time you look for it; but it will come in the way and at the time that will best meet your need. The prayers you offer in loneliness, in weariness, in trial, God answers, not always according to your expectations, but always for your good. GW 257.2 - GW 258.3

Why does the gospel no longer have the power of once did?

The Gospel that Paul preaches has the exact same power it always had........that causes this..

""""But as many as received Jesu.... to them God gives power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name"""""

Yes, the gospel is so wonderful that through the grace of God we may have an audience with the Monarch of the universe. People pay for an audience with presidents, with kings and queens of this world, and they fawn and bow before popes who are but mortal sinners, yet are reluctant to approach the throne room of the Most High God who promises them the earth if they but believe.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89.
The Word of God covers a period of history reaching from the Creation to the coming of the Son of man in the clouds of heaven. Yea, more, it carries the mind forward to the future life, and opens before it the glories of Paradise restored. Through all these centuries the truth of God has remained the same. That which was truth in the beginning is truth now. Although new and important truths appropriate for succeeding generations have been opened to the understanding, the present revealings do not contradict those of the past. Every new truth understood only makes more significant the old.14
Commencing with the Fall, down through the patriarchal and Jewish ages even to the present time, there has been a gradual unfolding of the purposes of God in the plan of redemption. Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses understood the gospel through Christ; they looked for the salvation of the race through man’s substitute and surety. These holy men of old held communion with the Saviour who was to come to our world in human flesh, and some of them talked with Christ and heavenly angels face to face, as a man talks with his friend.15
As time has rolled on from Creation and the cross of Calvary, as prophecy has been and is still fulfilling, light and knowledge have greatly increased.... In the life and death of Christ, a light flashes back upon the past, giving significance to the whole Jewish economy, and making of the old and the new dispensations a complete whole. Nothing that God has ordained in the plan of redemption can be dispensed with. It is the working out of the divine will in the salvation of man.16
All the truths of revelation are of value to us, and in contemplating things of eternal interest, we shall gain true perceptions of the character of God.... The entire character will be elevated and transformed. The soul will be brought into harmony with Heaven
Hey Brakelight,

I wanted to see a condensed version:

"Forever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven." —Psalm 119:89

The Word of God spans all of human history—from Creation to Christ's return—and reveals the eternal plan of redemption. Though new truths have been unveiled over the centuries, each builds upon and affirms the foundational truths of old. From the Fall through the patriarchs and prophets to the present day, God has progressively revealed His purpose through Christ, who was foreshadowed and anticipated by the faithful of generations past.

In Christ’s life and sacrifice, light shines on both the past and future, revealing the unity of God’s redemptive work across time. Every truth of divine revelation contributes to a deeper understanding of God’s character. By meditating on these eternal realities, our souls are elevated, transformed, and brought into harmony with Heaven.

~~

My comments is absolutely growing from a child to a son or daughter of God and strengthening the inner man/woman whom is born again in Christ, is essential. Continuing on in faith, even through suffering and our bodies dying.

God's Word is what I go by and the New Testament says only those that are husbands of one wife are to be church leaders.

Some people have itching ears and are following the false teachers so they are reprobate.
I guess God didn't get the memo.

“16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. ”
Acts 2:16-21 KJV

Perhaps you should remind Him how you think He should run His church.

I am puzzled.

Some people have itching ears and are following the false teachers so they are reprobate.
To my knowledge Mrs White was not a Pastor or Elder. She was believed to be a Prophet.

Women Prophets in the Old Testament
The label “prophetess” or “woman prophet” (něbī’āh) is attributed to five women in the Old Testament: Miriam (Exod. 15:20), Deborah (Judg. 4:4), Huldah (2 Kings 22:14; 2 Chron. 34:22), Noadiah (Neh. 6:14), and “the prophetess” (Isa. 8:3). Its significance is clear. Miriam claims the Lord “has spoken” through her (Num. 12:2). Deborah says to Barak: “Look, the Lord, the God of Israel, has commanded” (Judg. 4:6). Huldah similarly uses the prophetic introductory formula: “Thus says the Lord God of Israel…” (2 Kings 22:15). Scripture, then, describes a woman prophet as someone through whom God speaks to his people. In this regard, a “prophetess” is no different than her male counterpart, the “prophet” (nābī’). For this reason, I prefer the translation “woman prophet.”

Women Prophets in the New Testament
Luke presents Anna as a “woman prophet” (prophētis), which is the same Greek word the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament, uses to translate the Hebrew něbī’āh (Luke 2:36). Like the prophet Simeon who is paired with her (2:25–27), Anna is led by the Holy Spirit to speak about Jesus “to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem” (2:38). The masculine gender of the signifiers describing her intended audience suggests Anna prophesies to both men and women. Elsewhere, Luke uses the feminine signifier to define an audience of women only (15:9).

Luke’s depiction of Anna as a prophet anticipates Pentecost, when Mary the mother of Jesus and other women prophesy (Acts 1:14; 2:17). Luke makes another link between Anna and early Christian women prophets when he introduces Philip’s daughters as “virgins who prophesy” (Acts 21:9)

In Revelation, specifically in the letter to Thyatira (Rev. 2:18–29), Jesus criticizes a woman who calls herself a woman prophet—the same word Luke uses for Anna—for “teaching and deceiving my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols” (v. 20). The woman is clearly a leader in the church of Thyatira. But is she a genuine prophet? The prophet Jeremiah makes personal holiness and purity a litmus test for genuine prophecy (Jer. 23:9–40). Jesus, similarly, advises his disciples to expose false prophets by drawing attention to their behavior (Matt. 7:15–23). Unfortunately, the character and behavior of the woman from Thyatira did not meet the litmus test of a genuine prophet. Yet what is often missed is that Jesus does not attack the woman for being a leader, but for being an immoral one.

I guess God didn't get the memo.

Those following female church leaders are the one who failed to accept what God's Word says about the qualifications for ministry

Perhaps you should remind Him how you think He should run His church.

He runs His Church based on what He said in His Word.

To my knowledge Mrs White was not a Pastor or Elder. She was believed to be a Prophet.

She is a false prophet who teaches things God's Word does not teach that she claims she got from her dreams and visions.

She is either demon possessed, mentally ill or both

Of course those that have dedicated their lives to following her rather than Jesus Christ can't be helped.

Regardless of what she claims to be, a religious cult has been made out of following her

...believed by whom?
We have seen that the manifestation of the spirit of prophecy in dreams and in visions became necessary in consequence of man's being separated from the visible presence of God. But when the tabernacle of God shall be with men, and he shall dwell with them, and God himself shall be with them, Revelation 21:3; when Christ shall come again with all the holy angels, and receive his people unto himself, that where he shall be, there they may be also, John 14:3; and when man redeemed shall walk and talk with God, and Christ, and angels, in Eden restored; then there will be no further need of the spirit of prophecy. The Spirit of Prophecy, vol. 1

Again, the expression “Bible and writings of the Spirit of Prophecy” is ambiguous and confusing, because the Spirit of Prophecy, the Holy Spirit which inspires the prophet, did not confine this animation to Ellen White alone but included Moses, Malachi, John, and all the rest. Thus, the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy include the Bible and the works of Ellen White in short, the literary products of all inspired writers.

In his very helpful article, “The Gift of Prophecy: Another Facet of God’s Care For His Church,” Dr. Gerhard Pfandl points out that “Paul wrote to the Ephesians that the gift of prophecy would remain in the church ‘till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God’ (Eph. 4:13).https://www.pastortedwilson.org/what-is-the-spirit-of-prophecy/

The Scriptures testify that one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and we believe it was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. Her writings speak with prophetic authority and provide comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction to the church. They also make clear that the Bible is the standard by which all teaching and experience must be tested.((General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.https://www.adventistresearch.info/global-spirit-prophecy-reading-habits/

Please follow my example, by using Adventist sources to document all the claims someone has made about Mrs White.

Actually, in thinking about this more, perhaps there is an ulterior motive I could confess to, and that would be to lay aside any suggestions that Adventists rate Ellen White as the final authority in faith and practice for our Christian walk.
Then why continually gush over her, exposing us to the blatherings of a documented false prophet, in a Christian forum?

Ellen White always saw herself and her ministry as one that led people to Christ and His word as the ultimate and final authority in all things Christian. This was especially needful at the time she ministered, as the churches in her day were in a dark place and the Lord was seeking to bring people back to Himself.
I'm certain the same could be said of Adolph Hitler. Again, what is motivating you to carry on so with the blatant generic patronage?

Please follow my example, by using Adventist sources to document all the claims someone has made about Mrs White.
Follow your example? You're joking, right? For what purpose, other than to deflect? No, I certainly won't be doing that. The documented facts have been posted innumerable times, in countless forums.

Again, what/who is motivating Brakelite's smooth but uninspired and diversionary diatribes?

Now we would be spammed with SDA propaganda.

Bank tellers are experts at spotting counterfeit currency. However, they are NEVER allowed to study any counterfeit currency during their training!

Rather, they study every single detail of REAL currency. They thoroughly examine the graphics. They tear the notes, it, they sniff them, they write on them...

When a counterfeit comes strolling down the road, they spot the foul thing long before Joe Six-pack - because they have Studied to shew themselves approved unto God, workmen that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth aka the Holy Bible (rather than someone else's interpretation of it).
