Raising chickens on grass increases the nutrient density of their eggs, saves $$ on feed, and lessens the need for cleaning the coops, saving valuable time and energy.

I love this stuff. I grew up in the suburbs but my mum and step dad bought a place in the middle of nowhere called Gulargambone. I was in the Boy Scouts and loved the adventure.
I live on the coast now in Queensland but have dreamt about getting some land and going off grid. Theres cheap land inland. But my mum and step dad now live near Toowoomba west of Brisbane.
I love the mountains on which Toowoomba sits. It am looking for land on a mountain somewhere around this area. I am thinking of a shelter built into the mountain. Using the rock and earth as the walls. More or less like a cave. I like the feel of a cave.
I watch the survival shows where they make shelters out of natural surroundings. Theres something about earth and rock that feels snug and homely.

Have you looked into hyper adobe earth bag building? You can use multiple alternative building techniques all in the same structure. There's a guy from Australia, I believe, who teaches it. I'll see if I can find some videos with him. I know he and a woman both came from Australia to help a family in Arizona build with earth bags.
