Brethren in Christ Jesus:
Do not be deceived by what today's unbelieving religious Jews are proposing about the middle east nation of Israel and the return there of many Jews. You will find on some of their religious websites, their declaration of Israel's Restoration with the return of Jews in 1948 when the United Nations voted to make Israel a nation in the middle east again, but nothing like the nation God has promised in His Word, for today Jerusalem is divided with the Arabs.
Yet one will find them quoting from the Old Testament prophets about Israel's restoration when those prophecies are actually about the Restoration that only will happen when Lord Jesus Christ returns sometime in our near future. Not only unbelieving orthodox religious Jews believe 1948 is the Restoration, but so also do some factions in Christianity believe it too. But they all are deceived.
One of the major problems today in the Church is also the Jew's deception using that title of Jew to apply to all Israelites, when the northern kingdom, the ten lost tribes of Israel, did not use that title of Jew.
Per the Jewish historian Josephus in his Antiquities of the Jews, he said that title of Jew came from the sole tribe of Judah, and was the name which the small remnant that returned from the Babylon captivity used for themselves, the strangers that went captive with them also used it. The Babylon captivity only involved the 3 tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, and a small remnant of the northern ten tribes. The majority of the seed of Israel, the ten northern tribes, had already been scattered out of the holy land by the time the Jews went captive to Babylon. When Hebrews 8 & 10 quote from the Book of Jeremiah about the "house of Judah" and the "house of Israel", those two houses represent God having divided old Israel in two parts during Solomon's day with different prophecies He gave to each one. In 1 Kings 11, specifically about His promise to David and Jerusalem, God said He would always leave one tribe at Jerusalem. These became known as the Jews of the "house of Judah", made up of only those 3 tribes I mentioned before. To this day, those are who are returning to holy land nation of Israel. The majority of Israelites, the ten tribes, are still scattered among the nations to this day, and will not be gathered until Lord Jesus Christ returns.
What this means is there is a major DECEPTION going on among the Jews, and among deceived Churches, that think God's final Restoration of Israel per His promise had begun in 1948 with the return of many Jews to create the nation of Israel again. The REALITY is that those Jews of today's Israel in the land only represent the "house of Judah", and not... the lost sheep of the "house of Israel". You will find propaganda against this Bible prophecy about the true restoration where Jews will claim the "house of Israel" title is about Jews only, when it has nothing to do with the Jews of the southern "house of Judah" per God's Word. So when Jesus said He was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the "house of Israel", the Jews claim that is only about them when it is not. It is instead about the ten scattered tribes of the northern kingdom called the "house of Israel", and the meaning is that Jesus Christ would be received by the ten scattered tribes that were scattered among the Gentiles, and both together would make up Christ's Church of the historical western nations, thus fulfilling the Genesis 48 prophecy that Ephraim's seed would become "a multitude of nations."
The Ezekiel 37 Scripture tells us about God commanding His prophet Ezekiel to get two sticks, and write on one stick for Joseph (for the northern ten tribe "house of Israel), and on the other stick for Judah (Jews of the southern "house of Judah"), and join the two sticks together as one stick. And when the people ask what it means, to tell them that God will end Israel having been "two nations", and will join both houses back together and bring them into their own land promised their fathers. And that there will be one Head (Jesus) over them, with David as their prince. Many of today's Jews of course are against that prophecy in Ezekiel 37, because they instead want us to believe that restoration is happening now since 1948 and only involves Jews (yes, you have to be a declared Jew to return to the middle east nation of Israel to live there and become part of the nation.)
So remember, the TRUE RESTORATION of the nation of Israel per God's Promises will only be when Lord Jesus Christ returns to this earth to sit upon His throne of inheritance as King of Israel, and that throne is about David's throne, an earthly throne. That is when the two sticks of Ezekiel 37 will be joined back together in the holy land, and the Israel layout per GOD's Word, and not the word of the U.N., will be established there.
