That must be very difficult. I don't struggle much with the issue of lust, but every once...

Congratulations on being a woman, Lol.
I took a 30 day Christian music challenge as a new Christian. Only listened to Christian radio and everything for 30 days. I didn't like it at first. But when I went back to evanescence/britney spearce/backstreet boys, I realized I couldn't stand it anymore.

That would be good, because you never learned to spell Britney Spears correctly, LoL!! (Just think of pickle spears). :p

That's the goal! Acoustic guitar and 10-string lyre. Not very good at the lyre yet, but needed something I could carry around easily without it taking up a bunch of space.

Lyre would be pretty cool. The Madeline is also a pretty instrument. Little use for it on most modern worship teams, but still. If you love music it just becomes a hobby of sorts.
I want to practice piano more

The consummate instrument as far as versatility. You can play chords and notes at the same time. Guys that can travel with one hand and chord with the other amaze me.

Oh wait, I know how to say it. Okay.

If God puts you in a position of extremely long waiting and you're waiting on one person, you become really focused on that one person so much that you don't really care about anything else and everything else loses your attention.

Then eventually, even if that person doesn't turn up, and you start wondering if they were just like a placeholder for the real one or a counterfeit, you still don't really seem to care anymore at all except the times that I mentioned, but overall, I think of it as Jacob and Rachel, but the reverse as the woman.

"Jacob worked seven years so that he could have Rachel, and the time seemed like only a few days to him, because he loved her." (yeah can't relate to the feeling like a day thing.)

And then what was the first thing Jacob said to Laban? "Then Jacob said to Laban, "Give me my wife. My time is completed, and I want to make love to her."

Then Laban was basically like "Ok cool" because that apparently wasn't an awkward thing to say to someone's dad back then. Then after consummating the marriage Jacob realized it was actually Leah and I bet he was like "UGH" and then went back and complained, but Laban was shady, so Jacob worked another seven years.

Point is Jacob still wanted Rachel and not Leah. He wasn't satisfied.

The rest of it I just end up getting mad at Jacob for having multiple wives.

lol....Jacob had probably had a few too many sherbies not to pick up that it wasn't Rachel in the cot..... Leah shared Laban's guilt because because she didn't say boo.....good reason for Jacob to have a resentment. Now Jacob had two wives. I dunno what happened after that but he ended up doing the wild thing with his wifes servant girls and ended up with a couple more wifes....four in total. Now that's more than any reasonable man can handle!

LoL! I'm near certain that first part is bad. Not sure about the second part, LoL.

Life is complicated, LoL. All I can tell is this: Because things like relationships and marriages are SO complicated, only God can sort things out for you (and He actually can by the way). Your situation may be so tangled up that "the fix" now may be different than you might have hoped, but the Lord can fix your life up pretty nicely if you just put Him first and keep putting Him first.

All I know to tell you. :) The Great Physician can heal all things, even if your life is really, really sick, LoL.

Does make you wonder, doesn't it. Like, "Hello! Ever thought to maybe make a little eye contact first?" LoL.

But I guess if I'd had to wait seven years for something like that, I might have been a little pent up myself.

"All systems Go!" LoL.

lol As far as I remember it, Leah was veiled, but apparently Rachel had the "better figure." So there must have been a point where he was literally thinking things don't feel right.

Four wives. Why would you do that to yourself. I don't want four husbands. I'm not getting out of bed in the middle of the night to make FOUR sandwiches for four of them playing video games and suddenly getting hungry in the middle of the night.

Do you know how much bread that is?????????????????

Didn't they live longer, too? Could you imagine getting a knock on your door at 1 AM by six women, "We all want to talk about that thing you did 94 years ago."

I haven't read through this thread yet but can the opposite apply? Cause I still enjoy all the same things, but I try not to hate anybody now and love and pray for my enemies opposed to when I wasn't a Christian.

After becoming a true practicing Christian, did you ever feel like there were things that you used to love (music, movies, whatever) that you can no longer stand?

I was going through some old music to get some feelings because I'm all out and I couldn't resonate to any of the old stuff besides a few songs from The Civil Wars and a couple other things. The rest just feels dead.

That's probably a good thing but I'm craving some kind of "passion" or "creativity" that feels pretty stolen away from me probably because I can't play guitar right now. Not like I'm good or anything, but that was like my outlet that couldn't be taken away, because I'd rather die than look at a paintbrush and I'd rather listen to a fork in a blender for seven hours than write anything creative.
Amen! The yoke of the Lord is easy once you get use to it, but to continue to follow His steps seems different with a new change of life.

Once you make up in your mind that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ, you will on your way to a eternal life style, having a new mind to hear and do things that is pleasing in His sight.

Love, Walter

Thank you for this, I needed to hear this today as sometimes I feel like I sin too much as silly as it sounds because I'm no different than the rest of you in actuality.

Amen, I needed to hear this from you also, and like it is always best to obey His voice so that you can encourage someone else.

Sometimes I wonder why I beat myself up so much for being a sinner when that's the whole entire reason Jesus was born in the first place. I'm just too hard on myself. I think that's the reason. I'm harder on myself than God is on me.

Amen, I often ask myself why do I continue in a sinful nature after my own lust, but I thank the LORD that He has given us the Grace to not continue in that sinful nature.

But when that thought come I bring it unto the obedience of Christ.

I was just checking messages on here real quick because I'm supposed to be taking a couple of days off, but glimpsed past this.

You know sometimes the Holy Spirit gives us convictions... That's not saying that you're doing anything specifically wrong, but just that when you start feeling that way, sometimes it's good to just take an hour or two away from everything, shut it all out, sit down with a piece of paper and pen and just do a heart check.

Journaling and thinking helps. Pray about it and see where God leads you, or if there's anything that God might want to change in your heart, or if you feel like you might want to be doing some "spiritual cleaning" whether it be physical, emotional, psychological, etc. Sometimes convictions in our spirit are a good thing and listening closely can lead you into another direction and develop you as a much stronger person and closer to God - sometimes more than you thought possible. They are worth listening to.

I don't believe in shutting them off or telling people right away "Don't listen to that it's just the enemy trying to cause you doubt." Well, sometimes not. Sometimes it is God saying, "Hey, get a little away from that and a little closer to me." Like eating less brown food and eating more green food.

And that's an important gift to be given so don't allow it to be taken from you. You could be missing a very invitation to be close to the king.
