Acts 17:31 …he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

Quite an amazing verse on a number of counts.

A man, we are told, not a god
An appointed man who was risen from the dead.
A day fixed in which the earth will be judged.

There is a great irony in this verse and section of Scripture.

God through Jesus is going to judge the world because man is consistently idolatrous. Idol worship - i.e. worshiping a non existent god - a truine god demeans the the True Creator.

Read Psalm 97 for context.

The judgement is for the purpose of giving assurance to all because Jesus has been raised from the dead. And what is the judgement for humanity?.....it is the good news of forgiveness......this is what gives assurance.

Assurance to all? Scripture please. Jesus said the majority will burn in Hell fire , "forever and ever".

.....now, will everybody want forgiveness? it appears not.....and in so doing they judge themselves as unworthy......and what's more, God is exonerated from any and all misrepresentation. How do we know that? because the whole Universe sings 'worthy is the Lamb.' Revelation 5:11-13

Have you not read Mt 7? "Narrow is the way that leads to life and FEW there be who find it."

further.....
When the angels visited the shepherds on Bethlehems hills, this is what they sang;

Luke 2:13-14 King James Version (KJV)

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men.
https://www.bible.com/bible/1/LUK.2.13.KJV
.....Goodwill is God's disposition toward all men because that is the nature of love.....yes, 'goodwill'

It is the Devil who wants to fry us, not God.
The Devil is clever; he has so turned mens understanding of God and painted it with his own characteristics thereby making it appear as if God were the worst of Ogre's.

Yes. few (relatively) will find life yet it is because they turn their back on life (forgiveness) not because God withholds it from them.

Relatively is YOUR word, not Gods. That sounds like Kingdom Hall propaganda. God said the majority will burn in Hell fire "forever and ever". Those who say there is no eternal Hell fire are heading for Hell fire!

it seems to me Jack, you are angry at God's generosity. You are like the older brother in the story Jesus coined about 'The Prodigal Son'
I have copied and pasted the story here to make it easy for you.

Luke 15:11-32
11 Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.

13 “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robeand put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’

28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’

31 “‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

Well yeah, if someone repents and believes in Jesus before he/she dies that's a great way to avoid "the everlasting fire" that Jesus warned you about. Why do you AVOID Jesus' doctrine of Hell fire?

Jack, you are free to believe that God will fry people forever......yes, you are free to believe the reality of the Universe revolves around your understanding of it, however, wisdom says one asks reasonable questions regarding the utterances recorded in scripture. The value of that is in your court mate!

I'm free to believe Jesus? Well thank you. Who do you believe? What is your religion? Do you even know? Do you even know Who said this?

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Solomon understood the nature and destiny of man and that resurrection was required for judgement to take place. "The dead know nothing!"

In the current dispensation, salvation comes by trusting in Christ. The Sheep/Goats judgment comes in a time when your destiny if gentile will be determined by whether or not you assisted the Jews during the Great Tribulation.

Salvation specifically not based on works:

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation based specifically on works:

Matthew 25:34-35 KJV
34) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

These are opposite each other, yet both are true, within their context, and their dispensation.

Much love!
