More signs? Heavenly signs in the Bible Major Biblical events were marked with heavenly signs: solar eclipses, solar standstills, lunar eclipses, lunar standstills, total darkness and others. And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years. (Gen 1:14)But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest to the land, a sabbath for Jehovah. You shall neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard. (Lev 25:4)Shmita (Hebrew: שמיטה, literally "release"), also called the Sabbatical Year, is the seventh year of the seven-year agricultural cycle mandated by the Torah for the Land of Israel. It is the year the land must rest. The current Shmita year began on Rosh Hashanah of the Hebrew year 5768, and extends until 29 Elul 5768 (13 September 2007 – 29 September 2008).According to the Gaonim, any Anno Mundo (A.M. – the year since the creation of the world) year that is evenly divisible by seven, is a Shmita year.PAST EVENTS:Then Joshua spoke to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun! Stand still on Gibeon! And, moon, stand still in the valley of Aijalon! (Jos 10:12)And the sun stood still, and the moon stood still, until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? And the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens, and did not hasten to go down about a whole day. (Jos 10:13)And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle. (Luk 23:45)And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. And when He had said this, He breathed out the spirit. (Luk 23:46)So, six months after Yochanan (John) the Baptist was born, Yeshua (Jesus) was born. Therefore, since Yochanan (John) was born on the fifteenth day of the first month (Nisan), Yeshua would be born on the fifteenth day of the seventh month (Tishri)...six month later. The fifteenth day of the seventh month is known as Succoth, or the Feast of Tabernacles. By the way, that day was a full moon. In fact, the fifteenth day of every Biblical month is a full moon.It is a rare occurrence for four lunar cycles to happen on successive Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) observances. A series of four lunar eclipses on these particular holy days did occur in the twentieth century -- not once, but twice! The first set occurred in 1949-1950, the year after Israel became a state! The second set happened in 1967-1968, the year Israel liberated Jerusalem! Such a phenomenon is nigh unto impossible, unless it was set up by Divine design. The last time this set of four lunar eclipses occurred on Passover and Sukkot was in 1493, the year after Columbus sailed the ocean blue and Spain expelled all Jews.FUTURE EVENTS:And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. (Mat 24:29) [Second Coming of Christ?]Behold, the day of Jehovah comes, cruel and with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land waste; and He shall destroy its sinners out of it. (Isa 13:9)For the stars of the heavens and their constellations shall not give light; the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not reflect its light. (Isa 13:10)The earth shall tremble before them; the heavens shall shake. The sun and the moon shall grow dark, and the stars shall gather in their light. (Joe 2:10) [Reference to the great day]And when He had opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake. And the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. (Rev 6:12) [The Return of Christ?]And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was stricken, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not appear for a third part of it, and the night also. (Rev 8:12)Coming up this summer, there will be the first of three solar eclipses on the day that introduces the first of Av (1 August 2008). That’s right, all three solar eclipses will be on the biblical date of Av 1, for the next three years -- 2008, 2009, and 2010. Our Gregorian calendar dates are: Av 1 – 1 August 2008 - partial eclipse; Av 1 – 22 July 2008 - partial eclipse; Av 1 – 11 July 2010 - partial eclipse. In the Jewish calendar, they are all on the first of Av, the day when Jews lament the destruction of their temples. However, there will come a time when God will reverse the fast days and turn them into feast days, Zechariah said in Zech. 8:19 The Sabbatical year Sep. 2014 – Sep. 2015 will have 2 solar eclipses and 4 lunar eclipses. This will happen on Biblical or Jewish holidays. The four lunar eclipses will occur on: Passover, 15 April 2014; The Feast of Tabernacles, 8 October 2014; Passover, 4 April 2015 and The Feast of Tabernacles, 28 September 2015. It will not happen again for hundreds of years. Two solar eclipses will occur on: Adar 29/Nisan 1, 20 March 2015; The Feast of Trumpets, 13 September 2015. Nisan 1 marks the beginning of the religious festival cycle. On Tishri 1, the Jews observe Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets. This day is highly prophetic, because it is said to be the anniversary of the Creation of Adam. It is Adam’s birthday.“What is God telling Israel through the upcoming lunar eclipses?” Is it possible that these are fulfilling biblical prophecies? WATCH and be ready.
