1Tim 2:3-4 . . God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.

My postings defend the existence of a Hell; but personally I totally hate it.

I do not approve of eternal suffering and haven't a clue how God manages to
justify it. In my thinking eternal suffering is too extreme, too over the top;
even for psychopaths the likes of the Bolsheviks, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse
tung, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, the CCP, and Kim
Jong-Un.

A judicious amount of temporary suffering and humiliation followed by
annihilation, okay; but eternal, perpetual suffering? No.

Considering the amount of time, trouble, anguish, and patience that God
devotes to rescuing people from Hell; I've come to suspect that He dislikes it
just as much as i do; but He's stuck with Hell. The problem is: God always
does the right thing, and for reasons that I cannot even begin to imagine,
Hell is the right thing to do with the lost.

The problem the SDA has with the doctrine of annihilation of the condemned, is that our physical body IS NOT US, but a temporary home God put our eternal spirit into - as scripture makes ridiculously clear, so it takes an effort to obfuscate that scriptural fact - thus “we” can’t be destroyed.

At creation, God was an eternal spirit, having no physical body to make us an image of when He made us.

Therefore He made us an eternal spirit, in His image - and put us in a mortal body of flesh and blood, that we leave at death - and Christians immediately become absent from our body, and present with the Lord.

Both soul sleep and annihilation of the damned, are simply not so - our spirit is eternal and has one of two destinations available to us when we leave our mortal bodies, and step into eternity.

Of all the comments I've ever composed about Hell over the years, these
next are perhaps the most disturbing; so if there are impressionable young
children present, you might want to shoo them out of the room before
continuing.

Also; please note that the comments herein do not target women in general.
The comments target only impious man-hating women, i.e. those infected
with misandry.

Lorena Bobbitt made news in 1993 by amputating her husband's manhood
with a carving knife while he was asleep. She was later acquitted by reason
of insanity. Lorena's conduct was by no means ground-breaking. Wikipedia
lists a number of such cases involving women mutilating men.

Lorena's conduct was excusable under law because of her mental state; but
there are perfectly rational, sane women out and about who would be
overjoyed with ecstasy to mutilate a man; for example:

On August 01, 2009, four angry women-- Therese A. Ziemann, 47, Wendy L.
Sewell, 44, Michelle M. Belliveau, 43, and Tracy M. Hood-Davis, 30 --were
charged in Stockbridge Wisconsin for luring a married man to a motel room
where they tied him up and blindfolded him, slapped him around for a while;
then removed his knickers and used super glue to attach his private to his
stomach in retaliation for two-timing them. I really have to wonder what in
God's name is going on inside those women's heads.

According to the Beatitudes (Matt 5:3-11) heaven is a place of peace.
Women whose imaginations are laced with wicked thoughts, having hearts
infected with a brutal desire to injure men, simply can't go there. They
would hate heaven anyway because they couldn't be themselves there and
would never fit in. They would not only be prevented from assaulting men,
but they wouldn't even be permitted the cruel enjoyment of chafing men
with fault-finding and demeaning comments.

The disturbing scene depicted at Rev 20:11-15 will be presided over by none
other than the sweet little babe away in a manger.

John 5:21-23 . . Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all
judgment to the Son

Acts 17:31 . . He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice
by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by
raising him from the dead.

You impious man-hating women out there in cyberspace need to keep
something in mind about the great white throne event. You are going to be
judged solely on the basis of your life rather than the basis of your looks.
Christ will be neither influenced nor impressed by the silkiness of your thighs
nor the size of your bosoms; no, in point of fact; he will be quite determined
to disfigure them.

Rev 20:15 . . And whosoever's name was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.

In the end, it will be the sweet, gentle, turn-the-other-cheek Jesus who
subjects impious women to a death akin to a foundry worker falling into a
kettle of molten iron and permanently ruin any chances they might have had
for happiness in the future. For all eternity, condemned man-hating females
will grind their teeth with hot tears and white-knuckled fury that they
ultimately lost out on everything because of one lone male's obsessive
control over their lives; and I have no doubt whatsoever they will entertain
years of happy-thoughts dreaming of mutilating Christ should they
perchance ever manage to get their hands on him.

NOTE: There will likely be some bent noses over this post and see it as
denigrating to women (while conveniently ignoring that it's a double
standard to think it's okay to denigrate men). Well, I have to ask, since
when did women become a protected species? Women are not a protected
species. I've no doubt there are just as many, if not more, women
languishing in Hell as men because God is not influenced by chivalry and/or
political correctness.

Rom 2:9-11. .There will be trouble and distress for every human being
who does evil: For God does not show favoritism.

figures in post No.1 are within reason, then something like 187,491,688 new

God doesn't have to justify anything to us. The majority will burn in Hell. We have been warned.

I read this somewhere: "Belief in the eternal Hell is not required for residency therein."

Me thinks this generation has forgotten many things . Too entitled to this or that many folks think they are .
BUT GOD ANSWERS TO NONE . TO NONE .
WE have our way out , HIS NAME IS JESUS . IF THEY REJECT THAT , then that is on them .
BUT GOD answers to no man .

FAQ: The story at Luke 16:19-31 tells of a man's tongue and eyes, along
with another man's bosom, and another's finger tip. Those are all physical
aspects of human existence. How is it possible for people to have them in
the afterlife when their bodies remain here when they go there?

A: The available data suggests that the afterlife resembles some sort of
parallel world where there are equivalents to the things familiar in the
natural world.

For example; normal water is a liquid compound consisting of the atomic
elements hydrogen and oxygen, whereas the chemistry of the afterlife water
spoken of in Luke's story is very likely a liquid compound consisting of
elements heretofore unheard of.

It's also very possible that people in the afterlife aren't totally disembodied
but instead are fitted with something suitable for that environment made of
materials other than normal flesh and bones.

The afterlife is a supernatural world, so it shouldn't surprise us if many of its
physical characteristics are supernatural too.

Seeing as how God owns everything in existence, and answers to no one
how He goes about managing it all; then what He says goes because nobody
can stop Him from making and/or enforcing whatever rules He wishes.

Whether God's rules are loving, moral, just, and/or right and wise doesn't
matter. It's as futile to criticize lightning for being so bright, and thunder for
being so loud, as it is to criticize God's rules because no matter how much
people complain about thunder and lightning; there is nothing they can do to
stop those forces of nature from going about their business.

Acts 4:24 . .They lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said,
Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all
that in them is:

The Greek word translated "Lord" in that passage is despotes (des-pot'-ace)
from which we get our English word despot; defined by Webster's as a ruler
with absolute power and authority.

For many of us working stiffs, the first day on a new job is stressful and
quite an adjustment. The night before that first day can cause enough
anxiety to keep us awake worrying about what we might expect.

I'd imagine that, whether we end up in the right place or the wrong place in
the afterlife, we will be just as stressed on our first day there as the first day
here on a new job.

The anxiety associated with death is to be expected seeing as how most of
us have no experience at all with that particular journey. But I think the
majority of my anxiety in regards to death is related to what comes after.
Pity there are no guide books available in print to prepare us in advance for
the culture-shock tsunami with which we are sure to be slammed.

Christianity is sometimes criticized as a license to steal because when people
come to faith in Christ, the file that God was accumulating against them gets
demolished and from thence He does not begin compiling a new file.

2Cor 5:19 . . God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not
counting their trespasses against them

The Greek word translated "counting" is logizomai (log-id'-zom-ahee) which
means to take an inventory; i.e. an indictment.

2Cor 5:19 is quite an advantage because when there are no books on
people, then there is nothing on record with which to accuse them, i.e. it's
as though they've never been anything but 100% innocent, viz: blameless.

This may seem like cooking the books, but God has a way to do it on the up
and up without obstructing justice.

BTW: This benefit was predicted by Jer 31:31-34

Yes, Christians start with a blank slate, being forgiven of all old sins and sins that are past, but be aware future sins need repented of when committed after salvation.

Repentance of past sins is a prerequisite of salvation, and they are forgiven, but you can’t pre repent of future sins, so we need to also repent of new sins after salvation, too.

The real Christians start without slates of any kind; blank or otherwise.

2Cor 5:19 . . God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their
trespasses against them

NOTE: 1John 1:5-10 is often appropriated by unbelievers to substantiate their claim that
the sins of real Christians are counted against them. Many that I've encountered feel
that way because they are unable to comprehend the meaning and/or purpose of fellowship.

Luke 16:26 . . Between us and you a great chasm has been fixed

The barrier between Abraham's side of the netherworld and the rich man's is
curious. The Greek word is located nowhere else in the entire New
Testament so we can't compare it's application in other situations.

Chasm isn't necessarily a crevasse like a gorge or a canyon. It can also
represent a marked division, separation, or difference; for example there is
a political chasm between China's communist party and China's regular
citizens.

A chasm then, can be likened to the contrast between good and evil, right
and wrong, wise and foolish, hate and love, the condemned and the
innocent, the one true God and the many fake gods, the alive to God and
the dead to God.

Anyway, this barrier in Luke's story isn't so expansive that people cannot
recognize familiar faces on the opposite side nor hear their voice. And if it's
a literal gulf, then I think it's reasonable to assume people have been trying
to jump in to get away from the flames.

The Bible says that God desires all men to be saved and that He derives no
pleasure from their misfortunes. However, once folks are lost in the
netherworld, God's attitude towards them takes quite a turn. Folks in Hell
are dead to God, and apparently He wants them to be dead to us too; even
our loved ones and the BFFs for whom we care the most, i.e. fraternizing
with the other side is not allowed.

Luke 16:26 . .Those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can
anyone cross over from there to us.

Jesus made it clear the barrier can’t be crossed, whatever it is.

When you’re in either place, it’s permanent.

I sometimes encounter Christians talking about people suffering in Hell
forever as if folks down there have eternal life, No, they don't have eternal
life; they have human life; which is a kind of life vastly inferior to eternal
life. Human life is corruptible whereas eternal life isn't.

I once heard a minister tell the story of a fictional busload of Hell's inmates
who were given a 30 day furlough for some R&R in Heaven. They all came
back the first night because God's world was such a bore.

There were no wild parties, no clothing-optional beaches, no bars, no night
clubs, no porn, no gambling, no pigging-out at buffets, no fights, no
profanity, no ribaldry, no free sex, no vulgar late-night comedy, no exotic
dancers, no X-rated movies, no junk food, no tobacco, no marijuana, no
meth, no ecstasy, no LSD, no hunting for sport, no fishing for sport, and no
vices like gambling and prostitution.

And they had trouble seeing their way around. The light in Heaven was so
bright that they had to protect their eyes all the time with thick dark glasses.

And the hellsters didn't particularly care for the isolation. None of the good
folk in Heaven wanted to associate with them: they were ostracized, they
were segregated, and they were quarantined.

Heaven is a pleasant utopia. It's etiquette, its dress code, and its rules of
conduct and civility; were way too strict for the hellsters. Especially
suffocating is the mandatory self control everyone has to exercise in their
choice of words to avoid hurting people's feelings.

In other words: Heaven is a place prepared for a prepared people. Normal
people would quite naturally find God's world disagreeable-- they just
wouldn't fit in; especially with its lack of privacy, its 24-7 Big Brother
oversight, and its strict codes of conduct.

Take for example Wall Street barracudas. Do you really think they'd be
happy in Heaven? Or sweat shop operators? Or influence peddlers? Or
lobbyists? Or J-walking pedestrians? Or LGBTQ? Or greedy businessmen like
Phil Knight, Bill Gates, and/or Jeff Bezos? Or unscrupulous social networking
moguls like Mark Zuckerberg? Or cheap politicians? Or bookies? Or
hoarders? Or black marketers? Or activists? Or militant demonstrators and
protestors? Or Critical Race theorists? Or 1619 Project proponents? No. No.
No. You see many of the interests that concern Hell's people are
unacceptable in Heaven; and in point of fact, none of Heaven's people even
want to hear about that stuff.

You know what else is lacking in Heaven? Religious tolerance. There is only
one religion up there. What's that tell you? Well; it tells me that the
establishment clause of the US Constitution's first amendment doesn't fly in
Heaven. The theocratic monarchy in Heaven insists upon dictating
everyone's religious preference.

In other words: Heaven's utopian society, coupled with its 24/7 Big Brother
oversight, was just simply too much to ask in exchange for some time off.
To the hellsters, Heaven held little more appeal for a get-away than one of
North Korea's prison camps.

Only the blood of Christ is adequate for purifying sinners to God's
satisfaction.

Rev 1:5 . . Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten
of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood.

Rev 7:13-14 . . And one of the elders answered, saying unto me: What are
these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said
unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came
out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white
in the blood of the Lamb.

The lake of fire and brimstone can therefore be thought of as a leper colony
where everybody inadequately purified is kept in permanent quarantine.

Matt 25:41 . .Then he will say to those on his left: Depart from me, you
who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.

Rev 20:10 . . And the Devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of
fire and brimstone, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Devil and the cursed appear to constitute what we might call one big
happy family; so to speak.

Luke 16:26 . . Between us and you a great chasm has been fixed

Luke portrays only a small portion of the geography where Abraham and the
rich man conversed; suggesting that the two locations of the chasm where
the men stood are peninsulas or narrow cornices.

But I rather suspect that the rims of the chasm are straight and parallel like
the banks of a canal; plus extending sufficient distance in either direction to
accommodate hundreds, maybe even thousands, of friends and relatives
seeking to connect with their loved ones and BFFs over on the other side.

1Tim 2:3-4 . . God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come
to a knowledge of the truth.

My postings defend the existence of a Hell; but personally I totally hate it.

I do not approve of eternal suffering and haven't a clue how God manages to
justify it. In my thinking eternal suffering is too extreme, too over the top;
even for psychopaths the likes of the Bolsheviks, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse
tung, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, the CCP, and Kim

The problem is: God always
does the right thing, and for reasons that I cannot even begin to imagine,
Hell is the right thing to do with the lost.

yet there is no punishment in Hades’—a Greek god, btw—mythology
hmm
Of all the comments I've ever composed about Hell over the years, these
next are perhaps the most disturbing; so if there are impressionable young
children present, you might want to shoo them out of the room before
continuing
ah, ty, that would be me :D
