High water today

After continuing heavy rains across Arkansas streams and rivers water levels are growing ever higher. The Middle Fork of the Saline River that we live above, is no exception.

This is a boat mfgr located on our road a few miles from here. They had to tie boats outside to power poles to keep them from floating away.

We had a lot of rain.............. also.......... the pond overflowed and puddles started and in no time they connected to the pond.

and the little boats for the young children were floating all around...

I guess we too will get floods once all this snow melts!! We have had so much this year.

In the old days before raising our road and putting in a new bridge the river came over the road on both sides of our mountain. We'd be cut off. We've briught groceries home on the back of a tractor and in a flat bottom boat.

Once while hunting on the far side I returned to my canoe at dusk and found someone had stolen it. I waded across water up to my arm pits, fast water! It was a real miracle I wasn't drowned. Thank God.

Rain just roared all night.

I left the sound on this short video the roar is the water against the trees.

I was up all night and rain just roared. River below us is roaring. My daughter had to drive from Prairie Grove to old washington near Hope last night and she left at 6:30 pm and drove down hwy 71arriving at 11:40pm. What an ordeal in that rain on a dark, curvy strange highway! I prayed and have been for several days before her job related drive. Once a father always a father. A peace swept over me last evening and I had wonderful assurance all would be well. Suddenly I just had a knowing that it was done. It swept over me like warm oil!

Prayers for protecting all drivers that have to travel in this mess.

It's supposed to be over Saturday but I see days of rain chances of 50% next week.

I too had some chills last year when there was a sudden thunderstorm and my dad staying on the other end of the city. Most of the day he has to stay alone in that house as other family members are out for work. It became dark during afternoon and loud and continuous thunders, I've never heard such thunders before. It might lead to power cut and my dad doesn't know what to do in the dark with loud thundering outside. I had to call my dad and tell him to keep his mobile/smart phone close to him and keep listening to songs of praise and use the torch from the phone when necessary.
