Eternal life

Eternal - Never ending, without end, Forever, everlasting

Life, as apposed to death. A ressurection has taken place. we who were sdead have been made alive

Eternity is the length of time this new life will last.

Sadly far to many churches have changed the meaning to mean something it it has never meant.

I have eternal life. John made it clear in 1 John 5 I can know I have it

Now if you want to try to earn it. Feel free.

But know you will fail.
right now it is grace that can increase and can be lost by sin

otherwise scripture would not contain so many warnings!

Gal 6:7-8

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Matthew 25:46
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

thks

Hey mocker, I did answer it.

No you did not
I made dinner last night. How I made it is secondary. You're question invites a Strawman. If I didn't make dinner a certain way, it means somebody else gets the blame/credit for the dinner I made? LOL onto you. joy:
lol. Ok, You think God caused all the evil in the world. I got it. Then he is going to judge people for doing what he caused.

YOu can mock me all you want bro. You just Mocked God.

You imply otherwise with every post. If it takes faith to be saved and faith requires action, not just lip service, what is your defense to the contradiction that no action is necessary.
P1. Faith requires action on our part.
P2. Salvation requires faith.
C. Salvation requires action on our part
No

Faith does not require actrion

IT CAUSES ACTION

FAITH causes SALVATION

Faith CAUSES WORK

so SALVATION causes WORK.

If God removed free will. He is the creator of evil, We can blame God for all the evil in the world. We can even blame God for satan turning from him and falling..
You really should read the Bible.
Calvinism is a stain on the integrity and Honor of God my friend.
No idea what Calvinism refers to there.
I read the Bible and believe God meant what he said.

I have many times over.

Maybe you should? (can we please get past this strawman of if people do not agree with us we need to read the bible?)

So do I. All of it. Including that he is the god of Love, He died for the world because he loved it, and he is willing that non should perish.

If so,your remarks tell me you didn't understand it.

Strawmen,Calvinism, when you're able to discuss the topic without throwing sidetrack accusations, let me know.

My friend, You are arguing the calvinistic fatalistic doctrine that we do not have free will..

I am not making sidtracks or accusing anythign that is not true.

Now do you want to own up to your view. and discuss it. or keep making accusations? (strawmen)

then it should read "you have fallen from eternal salvation"

but it says "you have fallen from grace" gal 5:4

so we only have grace and not eternal salvation!

Thats not possible.. If it is eternal. Then it is eternal.
but it says "you have fallen from grace" gal 5:4

so we only have grace and not eternal salvation!

Yes.. We have fallen from what COULD have saved us.. before it did save us and give us eternal life.

Grace is offered to everyone. Some have it in their hands. and walk away. having never truly embraced it

Salvation is a gift. Not a reward.

so if salvation is based on you beling judged by your deeds. then salvation is a reward not a gift.

Its not really that hard to understand

An unrepentant sinner never trusted God. so he was never saved.. so I am confused why you would think I believe any different

No

I need Grace to be saved, But God will not force me to take his grace. so I have been saved by Grace through faith (free will choice) Eph 2: 809)

I am now a new creature. I will do Good works.. (not might)

Are you trusting in your good deeds to be the cause of your salvation or are you trusting in the promises of God to save you?

thats the question everyone must ask

I don't get it.
Reward. Gift.
Same thing really.
Both are describing salvation

If I have faith, do good deeds and repent for my sins but you say I won't be saved because I'm trusting my good deeds then I strongly disagree.

Your the only person that hasn't said yes I will be saved when I ask that question.

Even you said we will be judged on our deeds and get the reward which I'm assuming is the reward of salvation.

And if a person believes they will be saved on faith alone then they don't need to worry about deeds or repentance. It gives them a false license to sin. I disagree with that too

Anyway, whatever. Thanks for trying to explain this concept but faith alone makes no sense me. I don't understand it.

I will continue with my good deeds and repent for my bad deeds and let God be the judge. For as James says, faith without deeds is dead

this concept but faith alone makes no sense me.
It only makes sense when one recognizes the formula FAITH = BELIEF + ACTION.

The indoctrinated are so weary that anyone supposes they are saved by their works, they deny faith itself is never alone for by definition, it is accompanied by action. The action is the test of true faith. The action does not cause salvation but is a consequence of one who is saved.

The indoctrinated have the cause and effect backwards. The saved act differently. And this is NOT sanctification. One act of the faithful is confession of sins. Sanctification is a process that leads to less to confess about. The saved leave the 99 and go after the 1. The sanctified successfully guards all the sheep under their charge.
