In my area at the moment petrol is
$1.55 per litre AUD (Australian dollars)

That's for 91 octane fuel. There is 95 and 98 octane but it's more expensive. Most people just use 91 octane

I think in America they use US gallons
1 US gallon = 3.785 litres
So for a US gallon it's $5.87 AUD

But the USD is worth more than the AUD
1 AUD = 0.71 USD
So a US gallon is $4.17 USD

41 $ dollars spent this morning full tank of gas. On normal low price 32$ i aint complaining its whatever. I think the sign read 3.75 this morning i didnt pay 100% attention.

The price fluctuation happens all seasons of the year and depends on if any catastrophes have happened.

I don't drive, but the signs I have seen at petrol stations show prices round about £1.54 per litre of unleaded, more for diesel.

WoW. I thought petrol was cheaper in the UK.
We really can't complain too much then in Australia but we should be refining our own fuel like we used to

I remember back in the early 1980's gas was = to $5.00 per gallon in Italy. They didn't think that was high priced until they heard in the USA it was only 98 cents per gallon.
Europe has always been higher.

I thought Australia was the highest.
Turns out I was wrong. It's actually about that same as America, even cheaper than some states. When I got my licence in 96 it was about 60c per litre.

I just noticed you are a Californian too. What city if you don't mind saying?

Here in Los Angeles it recently got to somewhat over $6 a gallon. I'm not driving...a car is too big an expense for me. Rents are crazy high here.

I'm not in LA.
It's heartbreaking to see what's happening there. That's why I avoid the news on TV. And the current events board here. It's just too much negativity.

In Georgia USA, gas is still $3.50-$3.75. Our gov. suspended the state gas tax.

They introduced those years ago when gas was skyhigh.
