I saw on the news one night, a lead anchor talking to a sports anchor and the latter brings up Tommy LaSorda. The former says, "That's a great guy!"
Or elsewhere they will speak of one who has just passed. "The world will miss this sweet man." or "He was one of the greats."
None of these people know even slightly who they are speaking about. How many of these great titans of business, government, sports, music, movies, or industry struggled behind the scenes with some sort of vice?
Many might have been given to spending a lot of money gambling. Some might have frequented prostitutes. One source even says that Tommy LaSorda was involved with the Monarch mind control program. Do they want people to know about this kind of thing? No, of course not, but they do like being able to feed an interviewer a line of bull about their deep reverence for godly things, their charity, or to be seen in the church.
What it amounts to is a lot of these celebrities are completely evil people and the people of the world sing their praises when they make the news or when they pass away.
But then what that means for us is that because we are not of the world, we do not lavish these sorts of praises upon our favorite celebrities or others because we do not go about with the ways of the world.
There are some that do this with figures like Obama or this party in the Senate or that party in the House as if they are God's right hand men sitting in intercession for the American people, and even the world, and that it is because of the wisdom of these gentlemen that we are sustained.
It is by the breath and the providence of God that we live and are sustained everyday! God used Pharaoh to further His purposes and sure God can use our representatives. But don't speak of them as being saints, any of them, because that is not what they are and you do not know them personally. And because you do not know them personally then you should not speak that way.
Many Christians are not even idolaters at this point, they have stepped into full-on worship of these men and it is disgusting.
