Jesus is the word of God become flesh (John 1:14). In other words, in Jesus the scriptures became a reality. Therefore, to find the true meanings of the scriptures and have eternal life we must do what Jesus did (John 5:39).
Jesus preached the good news to the poor, healed the sick and brokenhearted and sacrificed his life so that those who betrayed him and were unfaithful to him may have eternal life (Luke 4:18 & Isaiah 61:1). He bore our affliction and oppression silently (Isaiah 53: 5 &7); healed and forgave sinners; and befriended Judas, although he knew that Juda would betray him. Furthermore, during his suffering and death he forgave his persecutors (Luke 23:34); was concerned about the suffering they would bring upon themselves by their sins rather than his own suffering (Luke 23:28). Through his chastisement he freed us from sin and put his spirit into our heart. We must, therefore, love one another as he has loved us (John 13:34-35); quietly bear each other’s burdens, forgive without any limit (Matt. 18:22); stay faithful to our marriage vows, even when there is betrayal and unfaithfulness; bind each other’s wounds; be a servant to others (John 13:14); and never condemn or give up on another human being.
Well, not sure that I see the correlation between the Title of your post, and the body of your OP?
Not to mention, I believe that you completely misinterpreted scripture by exegeting that John 1:14 means that in Jesus, the scriptures become a reality? In other words, which came first, the Bible professing the truth, or Jesus fulfilling it? The scriptures were always real, even before Jesus came to earth. Jesus simply made them clear, as we see where God was leading us the whole time, starting from the Garden of Eden, up to Cavalry, and his ascension. The first-born of creation, and the first-born from the dead, that we too may have life through faith in him. Did Abraham or King David not understand this, or a significant extent, because Christ was not born yet, or 'became flesh'?
Secondly, in order to understand scripture, one does not need to do what Jesus did? In other words, which came first, reading and understanding the Word, then obeying. Or, obeying the Word in hope to understand it? Obviously, if one is not convicted of something, his feigned approach will easily be discerned, and his actions will be in vain. That is, one must understand before acting upon something.
For one may have a very thorough and accurate understanding of scripture, but may not have performed in such an exceptional manner that Jesus or the Apostles did. But, he will still be fruitful.
The best way to interpret the Bible, is to read the Word often, use many translations, use commentaries and expositions, discuss with others, and pray for wisdom and understanding.
Once one has comprehension of God's truth, and learns why to love God & others, then acts that please God will invariably follow.
