Hi ScottA, Can you provide any Scripture references to sustain the belief that evil has occurred in all three heavens, namely the air and sky around earth, the celestial realm of outer space, and the eternal dwelling place of God?
It may be that the first act of rebellion against God took place in the Garden of Eden when the angel that has been known as Lucifer the lightbearer became jealous of God's Creation and relationship with Adam and Eve, and spoke as Satan the adversary through a serpent to deceive Eve into disobeying God's commandment not to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Scripture does provide in Job 1:6 and Zechariah 3:1 that Satan has access to God and Christ, but this is not necessarily in the 3rd heaven since God can meet whomever He wants anywhere He pleases. I like to think that the 3rd heaven, or the heaven of heavens as it is sometimes called, is a place where only holiness can exist.
Deut 10:14: Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’s your God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
1 King 8:27: But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have built?
2 Chr 2:6: But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

Well thanks for your reply, ScottA. A lot has been written and said about this verse but the simple fact remains that lightning falls from the sky or atmospheric heaven, so at very least Satan's description as prince of the power of the air is paralleled here.(see Eph 2:2) However, given the context of the disciples casting out devils (aka demons), to add to their success Jesus informs them He also has eyewitness knowledge of the expulsion of Satan from whatever height he was at, whether past, present or future in the narrative. Indeed the fall from the third heaven along with his retinue of angels, was necessitated as a result of the incident in Eden, but also in view is the fall Satan takes every time someone is delivered from his clutches, as well as the Revelation 12 fall from the celestial heaven which confines Satan and his angels to the earth's atmosphere, which fall some believe happened when Christ ascended to His throne.

I'm thinking that the words heaven and earth are to be looked at symbolically. Isn't it true that in 1 peter chapter 1 it shows us that a heaven and earth was destroyed during Noah's day? This is certainly the same planet Noah lived on and it's the same universe. Why are the words heaven and earth used regarding the flood of Noah's day.

You narrowed the context of Luke 10:18 considerably, leaving out the greater part. If you will widen your scope, you will see that Jesus' comments also referred to the spiritual heaven, and that heaven where the names of the saints are written (verse 20)...which is the third heaven.

Revelations 21:16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.
Not sure about the new Earth, but the new Jerusalem is HUGE!!! Love this visual! Like WOW!!!! And it has 12 gates (tribes of Israel) guarded by the Angels! :)

Yes, your observation is exactly the kind of edification that we are to bring each other. All of regenerate humanity is named in the holy eternal dwelling place of God, from which unregenerate humanity is excluded along with Satan and his cohort. In contrast to those who rejoice because their names are written in heaven, those whose names are not can only marvel or admire the inglorious global empire of their unregenerate humanity, metaphorically the beast from the abyss, as it climaxes before going to perdition.
Rev 17:8
(8) The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Have you considered that the new earth is somewhere else in the galaxy....or even beyond this galaxy? There is nothing limiting God to remain in this location. God is God of the whole universe.
My estimation is that this world will become the lake of fire...a planet that is destroyed...but preserved for people to visit if they wish to see the ruins of mankind's failed efforts to live outside of God's presence.
That is just a possibility. (Since anything is possible with God) ;)
Nice! Now imagine that the city was floating in the air so that only the angels and saints could enter into it. The other people...the righteous and the eternal outcasts would have no way of entering in.

to make them One. 1 Corinthians 6:16-17 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. [17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
Sure they have. Look at the opposite... Sarah.
Everything that the Book of Revelation describes about New Jerusalem is also describing the inside of Sarah's body. More specifically, New Jerusalem is Sarah's Womb. Those that enter Her 'Gates' are the Seed of Promise.
Thus Abraham's Bosom meets Sarah's New Jerusalem and the 'Marriage' (Conception) takes place.
We become Born Again.
Check this out though...
John 2:21
"But he spake of the temple of his body"
The Temple is described in the Book of Revelation. Heaven within the body.
Or how about this...
The newer translations relate the Kingdom of God to the body of Jesus...
Luke 17:21 (New International Version)
nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst"
That means that one of the Three Heavens is the Body of Christ. It's the Microcosm 'Within'.
Here are some more verses relating Heaven to the Temple Body...
Psalms 11:4
"The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men"
The LORD is in his Temple Body. His Throne is in the Temple Body and is the Heart.
Another Witness relating the Temple Body to Heaven...
Revelation 16:17
"And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done"

New Jerusalem is representative of the Womb of Sarah who is the Mother of us all...
Galatians 4:26
"But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all"
Sarah is also the Bride...
Revelation 21:2
"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband"
Who is Sarah's Husband? Abraham of course. Abraham represents God the Father.
Now here's the tricky part...
The 'Gates' of New Jerusalem represent the 'Mouth of the Womb'. It is the opposite of the 'Gates of Hell'...
Proverbs 30:16 (Douay-Rheims Bible)
"Hell, and the mouth of the womb, and the earth which is not satisfied with water: and the fire never saith: It is enough"
Those that enter the Gates of New Jerusalem are representative of Spiritual Seed entering the Womb to become Born Again...
Revelation 22:14
"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city"
The Tree of Life represents the Ovary inside the Womb of Sarah. Those that partake of Her 'Fruit' become one with the Ovum. Think of a Spirit entering into the egg during conception.
We now have half of the equation set up. Half of the Mystery is solved. The 'Brides' are ready for the 'Marriage'. Get it?
All we need now is the other half. The Male Seed if you will...
Revelation 22:1
"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb"
The Bible has a way of describing explicit content in a 'G-Rated' manner. Why? Because Children are reading.
It's up to you folks to be grown-ups and 'read between the lines' at what is being taught here. Hopefully I don't have to explain what the 'Water of Life' is coming out the Throne that is fertilizing the Tree of Life and the Ovum Fruit.
So there you have it. Bride meets Groom and Conception takes place. We are Born Again.
We become Abraham and Sarah's Children literally according to the Promise...

"And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise"
This is what is meant by being 'grafted in'. Grafted into the RNA Strand of the Blood of Christ...
Romans 11:23
"And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again"
We are talking Heavenly Gene Splicing here. Two strands becoming One.
As a side note, the opposite happened in the Garden of Eden. The Forbidden Fruit was in the Womb of the Harlot... our 'Earthly Mother'...
Revelation 17:5
"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH"
The Human Race are the Harlots and Abominations. Those that have humbled themselves will discover this Great Truth. We all arrived on this planet by partaking of the Forbidden Fruit as well. Our Earthly Father is the Devil. It's all literal BTW.
We need a new Mother. We need a new Father.

Your explanation had similarities to what Edgar Cayse wrote about Revelation symbolismI believe Paul and John both went to the same place. The Third Heaven.
What is the Third Heaven? The Kingdom of God Within.
Otherwise known as Paradise...
2 Corinthians 12:4
"How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter"
What is Paradise? Abraham's Bosom...

Heaven can mean the authorities which rule over mankind. The heavens ruling over mankind now is Satan and his demons and the humans who follow them.
The Earth is the people that the present heaven is ruling over. Understand the earth I'm speaking of is the people on the planet not the planet itself. God is the creator and ruler of the planet.
