Joel is inspirational!

I would have to disagree with anyone who says he is a false teacher! Granted Joel is not a teacher of in depth theological doctrine. You can listen to John MacArthur, RC Sproul or Charles Stanley for Christian theological teaching. Joel is not a professor.
What I get from Joel is a sense of happiness, encouragement and praise, adoration, wonder, thankfulness towards an awesome God who blessed and provides for us abundantly. He teaches about Faith and possessing it and nurturing it strongly. Believing what we ask God for is key ... and not just material things. Aren't we supposed to pray and believe it as if it is already a done deal? People need an inspirational coach now and then. He is right, positive thinking is required. If you don't believe you can do all things in Christ who strengthens you, you won't accomplish much.
Kids that grow up without a father, and without a positive mentor behind them, encouraging them, don't amount to much.
Robert Schuller was the same kind of preacher. Possibility thinking a d positve thinking, he taught.
Isn't the key factor of Salvation, FAITH? We are saved by grace through faith and it is a gift. Some are given little and some are given much. The Bible stresses forty times to encourage one another, we all need it.
Joel's a half-time coach that delivers a pep talk to the players before they go out.
My recommendation to all Joel listeners is to switch the channel to a more theological teaching to grow in knowledge, get the basics.
I get it, Joel doesn't even teach the basics - SO YOU NEED TO GET EQUIPPED ELSEWHERE FIRST, then turn Joel on for that inspiration. He has the joy of the Lord. He has charisma and is a good story teller.
I listen to John MacArthur for knowledge, not inspiration, not motivation, I don't find him even nice - He is serious. He doesn't seem happy - but that's John, I can handle it. I have heard him bash Joel ... he's probably just jealous of His success.
Joel is doing the Lord's work. Every Pastor has their own style and knowledge and draws their own segment of the body.
I think the prosperity thing is exaggerated. Actually it has been demonstrated in every church that thise who are givers, get it back and then some. What you sow is what you reap. So if you give with an eye dropper, you won't get much back ... whether it's love or money.
But who doesn't want to prosper? Do we all go to school, study, learn a trade, get a degree to do just that? Well, isn't a positve attitude and faith in God something that is needed ti accomplish whatever it is you are doing?
GOD wants us to live life in the full;
not to be possessed by our possessions, but to have our needs met and wants within His plan. We store our treasures in heaven but hopefully for some 80 years we are not living impoverished.
IF I remember correctly I think the wisest man who ever lived was also the richest. King Solomon was blessed with prosperity. Christians realize some will be rich and some poor. Wherever we end up, we need to be content.

The OP is about who has inspired the writer, and who they like.....followed by a question ‘ who do you like ‘
So why does it have to turn into a discussion about what’s wrong with people........why can’t you just share who has inspired you personally and just accept that The Lord uses all kinds of people at different times for different reasons..........
Inspiration is personal.......and valuable, I thinks it’s for God to decide who he uses xx

I used to listen to Hank Hanigraff. He is very knowledgeable about the Bible ... read one of his books even; but I don't agree with some of his theology and his condemnations of Joel. He is a partial preterist. He scorns people like Joel but he himself paid his employees dirt while he profited big. His radio show was tanking and so he's another one who sees a rising star who is very prosperous in book sales, is very upbeat, happy and so Hank is envious.
Don't see anything wrong with the other interviews, he's just not judgmental like many.

Do you think he uses you to enlighten and encourage multitudes of people to Christ?
I have never heard him teach something false.
So specifically, what makes him a false teacher to you?
If Joel asked you, "What is your ministry and how are you a servant to the Lord?" You may answer with something or nothing. He wouldn't criticize you, he would encourage you with a smile.

Joel Osteen is a false teacher in my opinion, as a few posters have already alluded to. I dont hate the man he has a gift of speaking encouraging words. It would probably be better if he referred to himself as a motivational speaker instead of a Christian teacher. He doesnt speak about sin often

Charles Stanley seems as good you'll find for a tv preacher. He does speak about sin and its consequences but id be interested in hearing more opinions about him from others, good or bad
I used to watch Charles Stanley every week, he 'IS' about as good as it gets for a TV preacher, BUT I did ultimately find significant heresy in his teachings.

I'll have to look back into his stuff and remember what it was. Disappointing because he really fits the bill for a seemingly trustworthy man of God.

Unfortunately, that's the world we live in now, folks. If somebody is BIG in any way, take careful note of every word they speak because chances are they are corrupt.

It's not how I, or any of us, want it, but Truth is Truth. And Truth is not a common, or popular, commodity these days.

Remember who this world belongs to and it becomes easier to accept. Jesus didn't warn us for no reason.

(2 Peter 2:1-3)
(Jude 1:4)

Thats sad to know! Its unfortunate that almost all of the popular pastors are false teachers. I know my dad loves Charles Stanley and if you were to find the heresy he committed and if i was to point it out to my dad it would cause a conflict

At the end of the day what you said about the truth being the truth couldnt be any more true. Theres not a single pastor i would put ahead of or even on the level of the one and only true God

They're amazing. I learned so much from Joel Osteen and Charles Stanley. The time I watched them was when I could still see Charles Stanley's archives from 2007. Who do you like? Or has impacted you?

I listened to Charles (as well as many other) for years on the radio (being from a different denomination was unheard of for most), he was always a favorite, good speaker and had good things to say. I went to a friend from a different denomination to ask some questions, we talked and he gave me a Stanley book. I already liked Charles and got a lot of good information from what he said in his book. Joel gets heat but I think anyone that is trying to help others like Joel and has a good understanding should be left alone to do what they feel led to do. Jsing.

Does God's opinion of him matter to you? Because the Bible makes clear what His opinion is on most things and those who preach against His Word, or preach other doctrines that contradict His Word, are outright hated by God.

Charles Stanley pushes hard for Eternal Security which is not Biblical. Yes, it's about as debated as the Trinity, if not more so, but it is leading 100's of thousands to take their own lives right now. The suicide rate has sky-rocketed in the last decade or so and nobody is talking about it. Many of those who do it, are convinced of another religion like New Age beliefs, or they are Christians who believe they are Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) and that they will go straight to Heaven for quitting in life.

Yes, I have a family member who took this route so I'm authorized to speak of it.

I won't go into all the many verses that clearly dispute it so as not to take this thread into the wilderness.

God bless.

Back in the early to mid-70s, this so-called peace sign was known as the hand sign of Satan. Everyone knew it. A top album at the time was, "Demons And Wizards." SMH Promoting one's best life now is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles. Luke 9:23 for a start.
