I was wondering if my definition was correct. Wasn’t that what the people of Israel did? People can make other things their god and not the true living God, Yahavah. Which resides on the matter of the heart condition? The actual Holy Spirit comes with fruit...
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. - Galatians 5
Nothing here on knowledge!
Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. - 1 Corinthians 8:1
Yes... And covetous itself can be idolatry.I was wondering if my definition was correct. Wasn’t that what the people of Israel did? People can make other things their god and not the true living God, Yahavah. Which resides on the matter of the heart condition?
There is difference between here and there then! Thank you, for your help, rocky.
As long as revelation falls in truth and is by the spirit, I suppose that’s ok. If it’s misleading and leading to having hatred and less loving there is something wrong there.And... The Holy Spirit is not creepy! If some kind of special revelation has turned people into basic creeps, then that ought to raise flags as the source as not coming from God.
I don't like to address the Lord by his name in the same way I didn't address my parents by their names. I addressed my dad as "Dad," not as "Elbert."Gods name. Many people don’t like to use Gods name cause they don’t think it matters.
Yahweh, Yehova, Yahavah , Jehovah, YHVH
they say the name is so sacred we are not allows to use it… like that Voldemort character on Harry Potter, but he was evil.
That is my understanding of "idolatry." That item could be a person.Isn’t idolatry where you place your focus on an item in which you devote yourself to in place of Yahavah who is Spirit and is God above all other gods?
Do you think God wanting his name to be known is of any importance regardless if you decide to say Gods name or not?I don't like to address the Lord by his name in the same way I didn't address my parents by their names. I addressed my dad as "Dad," not as "Elbert."
Sure it can be also a person, they put priority over God on that one person, focusing on non faithfulness to Yahavah. That is my understanding of "idolatry." That item could be a person.
If I didn't know your name, and you didn't know my name, we could still be friends. And so it is with the Lord, I think. It's the friendship that counts.Do you think God wanting his name to be known is of any importance regardless if you decide to say Gods name or not?
I can't remember ever hearing anyone call the Lord "Yahavah" before.Do you think God wanting his name to be known is of any importance regardless if you decide to say Gods name or not?

Yeah it doesn’t matter. But to God it was important to him.If I didn't know your name, and you didn't know my name, we could still be friends. And so it is with the Lord, I think. It's the friendship that counts.
Unique isn’t it.I can't remember ever hearing anyone call the Lord "Yahavah" before.
Did Jesus ever address his Father by his name, or even use his name?Yeah it doesn’t matter. But to God it was important to him.

Where did you see him called that?
The name "Yahavah" appears to be a variation or transliteration related to the Tetragrammaton, "YHWH" (יהוה), which is the most sacred name of God in the Hebrew Bible. However, "Yahavah" itself is not a widely recognized or standard form of this name.Who is Yahavah?
