If Christianity is true, would you become a Christian?
Yes, without all the needless pomp and window retail dressings and all of its religious overtones that satisfies the requirements of the world.

Just to be in Christ as a citizen of the Kingdom of God, today, and every living day!

Why have you chosen not to register as “Christian” on Christianity Board?

Please note that we do not require anyone be a member of any church to be considered a Christian. We consider...

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. - Romans 10

The two big deals...

1. Confess the Lord Jesus
2. Believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead

And... You are saved! We accept you as a Christian. From there we would encourage you to grow and to study the material you feel God has laid in your lap.

My testimony is very close to that of George Clark Rankin... In which the Christ and the Holy Spirit were felt in the heart in a big way. How could anyone deny God after such an experience. As this is too much to post here I will share the link...

For those wondering about the purpose of this thread : It is intended to engage those who don’t in any way or for any reason currently consider themselves to be “Christian”.

The question in the OP is a tool to gauge interest.

Thank you for your comments, and I do appreciate them, sincerely. I've read on some posts previously that there is more to what you said, and then a few got into deep water. And the rules have been changed, in part, a couple of times now within several months I gather. I do not want to take that chance that I might step over the line in the future.

I'm really happy here, to stay in this part of the site, and to give what I can of my experiences in my faith and knowledge to others. I have no problem with it. I can still contribute much here. I've already noticed Matthias is knowledgeable and mature, and patient in most of his posts, and I can be helpful, to both of us and others.

Just the other day, from nowhere, I got a PM from a member from Africa wanting to do Bible Study together, with me. God does work in ways not noticed or expected..

And I do believe in your 2 big deals...thank you again sir.

God bless you sir! And I post this here... Especially... As I do not want you to believe you have to join in all the complications discussed in this forum to be considered a Christian. I personally consider you Christian and would have no problem with accepting you. God bless! And wishing you well!

Oh.... you like to register...

So Matthias.... will you register now... and admit to all that Jesus the Nazarene was a Man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him.... for all to see... just as you should know?

Do you agree with my comment?

Oh.... you like to register...

It’s not a matter of liking or not liking. Everyone who wants to post on Christianity Board is required to register in order to do so.

So Matthias.... will you register now...

I registered “Christian” on May 3, 2022.

… and admit to all that Jesus the Nazarene was a Man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him.... for all to see...

Yes. I have, from the beginning.

… just as you should know?

Those who are well acquainted with my posts have seen me make that assertion.

Do you agree with my comment?

I’m a Jewish monotheist who believes that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised and prophesied Messiah, Son of the living God. My signature conveys that at the bottom of all of my posts; with this post that comes to 20,087 times.

I’m a primitive Christian, not a Nicene Christian.

Considering that this is a non-Christian help forum…it would be good to actually clarify what the word “Christian” really means. For those who have not committed to Christ as their savior, there are obviously reasons that have become obstacles for them, and unless those obstacles are removed, how will they ever make their choices?

Reading the posts here will accomplish one of two things…..the non-believers will make the choice to accept Jesus through whomever they discern is teaching the truth……or……they will be put off by all the confusion and arguments, and choose to stay in their unbelief….so we have to ask what part does God play in all of this? (John 6:65)

Why even ask the question?
Very good points raised in that interview….

But Jesus already addressed them I believe……

When he sent his disciples out to preach his message it was with this instruction…..

Matt 10:11-15…ESV…
”And whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart. As you enter the house, greet it. And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.”

So first of all we see that there are “worthy” ones, and those who are not “worthy”. The people themselves by their reaction to the visit, determine which category they are are in, but Christ directed the disciples to preach to everyone in that town or village, so that no one was missed. No one could ever say that no one called to give them the message of salvation.
Those in Noah’s day also received a clear warning about God’s intentions but failed to reveal any ‘worthiness’ in them. Not a one was saved, but none died in unbelief….it just came too late. I guess that they all wished that they had listened. (Matt 24:37-39)

The reception given to the disciples was an indicator as to how they were to handle each response. Those who listened and wanted to know more, were given all that they needed to know to make a decision about becoming a “Christian”….a follower of Christ.…which required a complete change in their thinking and beliefs.

Those who rejected the message showed that they were not interested in hearing anything the disciples had to say, and so they were to leave and move on…. “shaking the dust off their feet”…which was in reference to the custom of washing a visitor’s feet when they entered the house. It was a hospitable thing to do when these disciples had travelled dusty roads in search of “worthy ones”. It indicated an invitation into the home for more discussion.

But Jesus’ last expression there indicates what will happen to those who wave their hand and say “not interested”….they will have the same judgment that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah received after the angels came to rescue Lot and his family.
When God brings the curtain down on Satan’s world, the genuine Christians will have been ‘relocated’ to a place of safety.…not necessarily physically, but spiritually. Jesus indicated that unbelievers could fall at your side while you as a disciple, would remain standing.

So then the question must be asked…..who then are the genuine “Christians”, since Christendom is a disunited rabble who can’t seem to agree on much of anything but the unproven core of beliefs that hold them together like a flimsy piece of unraveling string.

This is where John 6:44 & 65 comes in…..Jesus said…
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.“. . . .“This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” (ESV)

It is God who determines who is “worthy“ and who is not. The worthy ones will be “drawn” to the message and the unworthy ones will not. This explains why many of those who claim Jesus as their “Lord” will be rejected by him at the judgment……(Matt 7:21-23) These are the counterfeit “Christians” that Jesus and the apostles warned about…..the “weeds” sown by the devil. The harvest time is almost upon us, so we will all be found in only one category or the other…..”wheat or weeds”…..”saved or unsaved”. Jesus knows the difference…but we may not.

I attended church yesterday and heard a thought provoking message entitled,
"Would you Love Jesus if He were Broke?"
In other words, would you Love Him without the promises?

Interesting angle…..but Jesus never offered or promised what was not needed after the fall.
The promises he made were the basis of his message….a kingdom that would “come” and bring God’s will back where it was needed….to be “done on earth, as it is in heaven.”…restoring God’s original purpose for the human race.

What did those promises include? Any material benefits? Yes, but superseded by the spiritual benefits.
Can we imagine living in a world where all are doing God’s will and as a result, enjoying the paradise conditions that he initially gave the human race? Sickness, suffering, old age and death will be things of the past, and peace and security can be restored to the earth when, thanks to Christ’s sacrifice, we are forgiven of our sins, and have everlasting life returned to us. (Rev 21:2-4)

We love him because of the promises…..

Here is how we know = John 1:10-13

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
