No, Jesus was not created, but humans are created and in God's likeness. There is the superficial likeness of a physical form, and there is the nature of his being which our own parallels. There are also some qualities humans share with God, like love and emotions. I dare not elaborate because I do not have the whole picture. I am confident none of these parallels with God make us divine.twinc said:was Jesus like us created in the image and likeness of God - what does being created in the image and likeness of God mean - are we human and divine like Jesus - twinc

there appears to be a serious misinterpretation - it seems the correct interpretation is were and not are - we are now created in the fallen image and likeness of Adam[Gen.5:3] - furthermore one of the greatest if not the greatest achievement of science has been the dematerialisation of matter - so all and everything is mental and spiritual and matter/physical is an illusion - twinc
to say or accept that we are now created in the image and likeness of God whilst great for the human ego does not say much for God - twincI don't see either interpretation as incorrect. We were and we are created in God's image. Not as copies, or little gods, but in stylization.
I believe we are still created in God's image because I don't believe humans share in God's divinity. But if you believe that humans were intended to be little gods then I can understand why "were created" would be the only acceptable interpretation.
Ego has nothing to do with it, this is what the word of God says:twinc said:to say or accept that we are now created in the image and likeness of God whilst great for the human ego does not say much for God - twinc
