Without OSAS, the Gospel becomes fear-based religion.
Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Our pastor just preached an entire sermon against OSAS last week....then left town all week on a trip to the Creation Museum and Noah's Ark.
Ha! He is the pastor of a SBC church which is why it's hilarious.

But truly there are plenty of stories in the New Testament and Old alike of people that God rejects based on what they do with their faith.

OSAS is not what it appears. And Calvinists are usually the culprits of misrepresenting the somewhat truth of this concept.

The true concept is that the guarantee of God being more sure than the ground you stand upon.
And
Saints persevere because they believe...

That is amazing.

The baptists are normally supporters of OSAS heresy.

I guess the SBC will be giving him the left foot of fellowship soon.

Tell him they should consider breaking away from the SBC and be independent

Sadly some claim we are supposed to be skeered of God.
The fearful will have their part in the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8)

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

Romans 8:15

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

It''s those that are NOT walking with the Lord NOT being led by the Holy Spirit who should be skeered and REPENT!

Romans 13:4
If thou do that which is evil, be afraid

Sadly some claim we are supposed to be skeered of God.

“… his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.” (Luk 1:50, KJV)

“… I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luk 12:5, KJV)

“… I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luk 12:5, KJV)

So the following scriptures are lies and should be removed from the Bible???

One needs to right divide (understand) the Word of Truth.... the Lord doesn't say the fearful burn in hell and then turn around and say you're supposed to be fearful.

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The fear in those verses are of worldly things, the great unknowns in life.

Not the fear of God.

That’s so obvious when you “rightly divide” (understand) the full counsel of God.

OK, I guess some folk will live being skeered of God.
What others do or don't do is not problem for me one way or the other.

I'm going to turn away from and hate evil and walk in agreement with God having a clear conscience and be able to come boldly before His throne of grace as it's His great pleasure to give me the Kingdom!

Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Luke 12:32
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“…be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.” (Pro 23:17, KJV)

“… Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.” (Rev 19:5, KJV)

What is the fear of the Lord ???

Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way, And the perverse mouth I hate.

It's a trick of the devil for one to think God wants His Children to be skeered of Him.

Those believing this have chosen to believe Jesus told a falsehood....

Luke 12:32
FEAR NOT, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Do you claim to be 100% without any sin

Yes.

John 14:12
1 Peter 4:1

1 John 1:8 - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

You failed to show the next verse:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1Jn 1:9, KJV)

I have been cleansed by the blood of Christ. All sins have been taken away.

Now, with a clean slate, we (true Christians) are here:

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin” (1Jn 3:9, KJV)

The next verse does not change the fact that you answered yes to the question - Do you claim to be 100% without any sin, like Christ, from moment-to-moment 24/7, demonstrating that you deceive yourself and the truth is not in you.(1 John 1:8)

Doeth no sin
(αμαρτιαν ου ποιε). Linear present active indicative as in verse 1 John 3:4 like αμαρτανε in verse 1 John 3:8. The child of God does not have the habit of sin.

His seed (σπερμα αυτου). God's seed, "the divine principle of life" (Vincent). Cf. 1 John 3:1.

And he cannot sin (κα ου δυνατα αμαρτανειν). This is a wrong translation, for this English naturally means "and he cannot commit sin" as if it were κα ου δυνατα αμαρτειν or αμαρτησα (second aorist or first aorist active infinitive). The present active infinitive αμαρτανειν can only mean "and he cannot go on sinning," as is true of αμαρτανε in verse 1 John 3:8 and αμαρτανων in verse 1 John 3:6. For the aorist subjunctive to commit a sin see αμαρτητε and αμαρτη in 1 John 2:1. A great deal of false theology has grown out of a misunderstanding of the tense of αμαρτανειν here. Paul has precisely John's idea in Romans 6:1 επιμενωμεν τη αμαρτια (shall we continue in sin, present active linear subjunctive) in contrast with αμαρτησωμεν in Romans 6:15 (shall we commit a sin, first aorist active subjunctive).

And you got the reason.

If Christ takes your sins away, how are there any left?

And you ignore (or twist) John’s writings later in the letter!

Because you want to keep your comfort in your occasional indulgence in sin (as it seems).

You don’t seem to want to exercise yourself in holiness for some reason.

I departed from evil, and yet you, you don’t even seem to realize how your behavior is unbiblical.

I’m your prey simply because I preach the truth:

“Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.” (Isa 59:15, KJV)
