The scapegoat gets released into the wilderness after having all their sins and transgressions put upon its head in Leviticus 16:21. Do you see that first century apostate generation of Jews as being the scapegoat?
Why would "that first-century apostate generation of Jews" be "the scapegoat"?

To whom is Paul writing in 1 Thessalonians 4? "For this WE say unto YOU by the word of the Lord, that WE which ARE ALIVE and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep." The things Paul wrote about to THEM were going to happen to THEM and to HIM (THEY are the "we") in their lifetime.

He did not know when those things were happened and was just being positive that it could happen in his lifetime. He was wrong as those events have not yet happened. Had the second coming happened already, the resurrection of all the saved dead would have happened and they would be immortal and living on Earth. None of them are here. Preterism in all forms in deception to make the saints not identify when the real end times event happen, particularly the very dangerous times of the trib and AC. All false doctrines deny the AC in some form, as this version of Preterism does. Keep your eyes open saints, and look for the signs and events the NT warns us of.

In Matthew 23:35-36 all the righteous blood shed shall come upon this generation. Some people will say it’s referring to an evil and adulterous generation, meaning mankind is divided into an evil generation and a righteous generation and the evil generation must pay for their own sins while Christ pays for the sins of the righteous generation. That idea has the problem of David killing Uriah, the blood of Uriah would be included in Matthew 23:35-36 blood coming upon this generation. Since David’s sin of killing Uriah was paid for by Christ that means either Christ was included in that generation or that sin receives double jeopardy.

That leaves me with the thought that it was an actual first century generation that had the righteous blood put on them, just as the scapegoat had sin and transgression put on it and released into the wilderness. It doesn’t seem like both goats in Leviticus 16 at the day of atonement represent Christ.

The Apostle Paul was wrong? No. He was not just being positive. He was clearly and firmly stating that he and those saints of his own day were to be gathered together to Christ at His coming to THEM in THEIR lifetime. THEY were to meet Him in the "air" (the realm of God). The dead in Christ were freed from their place of waiting in Hades--having been made fitted for heaven at His coming.

You struggle with these plain words because you have a faulty concept of the resurrection. It was not and it not about physical bodies popping up out of the grave. That is why you cannot see its fulfillment and have to twist the words of the great Apostle Paul--who spoke the words from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Himself! You speak of things that are dangerous yet you do not consider calling an Apostle a deceiver to be dangerous? What other biblical writers are we to question? Should we question the very words of our Lord and Savior? Maybe so. He clearly told those disciples standing right there with Him that He would return to them in THEIR GENERATION. Was He wrong as C. S. Lewis contended?

The resurrection involves the restoration of the fellowship with God that was lost through the first Adam. The Last Adam (Christ) restored that relationship--beginning with His sacrifice on the cross and fulfilled in His return in complete victory in A. D. 70. To be "resurrected" is to be brought into God's kingdom through the blood of Christ and finished work of Atonement. The physical body returns to the dust from whence it came. It is the SEED that remains in the ground and dies (1 Cor. 15). That which is NOT LIKE THE seed is what comes forth and lives. THAT is resurrection.

Once you accept the true essence of the resurrection, you can cease from accusing biblical writers of errors and stop condemning preterists.

We know that they did not live to see the second coming or the gathering. No generation has.

2Ti_2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

This guy lays out a good argument for Jesus's return in 70 AD. I'm curious for your thoughts IF you watch the 25-minute video.

The guy is good, I was aware of Josephus mentioning the sightings of the temple, but now there is also Tacticus.

I agree with you on this.

the "scapegoat" you described is not limited to the 1st Century Jews

The End-Time scapegoat is the Antichrist and every Jew & Gentile who will/have given themselves over to the spirit of antichrist.

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
