Expound. This is like the first time you’ve responded to me in months. So… it’s a toss up for me. I don’t look as you a stupid person or someone beneath me, you’re a person of faith and a lover of Jesus. So… idk what you mean saying something like that to me; personally.

Also steven I said a lot more than just the quote itself. So… you didn’t even say anything about those things, which really even throws me more for a loop.

Job 41:11 says, “Who has first given to Me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.”
Why would you post this on a topic that asks: Is Revenge a Sin?

It’s hard for me to see God as unjust—He’s sovereign over everything, and His actions throughout history reflect that. The wrath that was poured out on Israel, for example, was something clearly spoken of and promised in the Old Testament.
Hard to see God as unjust? But not hard to see Him as a merciless tyrant?

Today, a lot of people turn to God hoping for justice—especially when someone’s brought chaos or harm into their lives. That longing for fairness is deeply human.
Nonsense. More likely that people turn away from God due to a lack of justice.

And yes, Yeshua taught us to love our enemies, which is powerful. But realistically, many of us don't feel like we have "enemies" unless someone is actively causing problems—like personal harassment, or invading our space at home or work.

People can catch felonies for such crimes.
More nonsense.

Back in the first century, believers really did face intense opposition, even persecution to the point of death. While challenges still exist today, it's not quite the same level as it was in that time.
Is that a reason not to love your enemies?

Steven, I fully stand by everything I’ve expressed.

While I don’t view others as enemies, I do struggle with trust. Still, I sincerely wish people well in their lives.

That said, I acknowledge the reality that some individuals act with deep malice—whether mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or physically. For those who cause harm and abuse, I hope justice prevails. I also hold onto the hope that even the most broken will one day confront truth, be set free, and seek a better path.

Justice matters deeply to me—especially in cases where individuals suffer unimaginable loss, even at the hands of their own family. I believe accountability is essential. I trust in the governing structures that God has established, designed to protect society and uphold justice when wrongdoing is judged and proven.

And though some may reject the Light and embrace darkness, I still hold hope that a few might turn and find it.

Most readers would answer in the affirmative. Yes, revenge is a sin... for us, but not for God.
For us, but not for God?

Why? Does God operate at a lower standard than he holds us to?
Many would bristle at that question. Why?

We are required to love our enemies. Jesus taught this as godly behavior. (Matthew 5:44-48)

If revenge is a sin, then perhaps we are misunderstanding this scripture about the wrath of God.
(notice verse 21) Overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:18-21 NIV
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath,
for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[b]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
When an enemy is on a path of self destruction....don't stop him by giving him yourself to focus upon.
