Is the OT YHWH the NT Father?

Often, it is. The LORD (YHWH) as the father is mentioned many times in the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy 14:

1a You are the children of the LORD your God.

NIV Deuteronomy 32:

6 Is this the way you repay the LORD, you foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?

Psalm 103:

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

Isaiah 63:

16 “But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.”

The above OT verses depict YHWH as a father. They are indications that the OT LORD (YHWH) is the NT Father.

Now, Isaiah 42:

8a I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another.

But then, Jesus claimed to have this glory before the world existed in John 17:

5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Jesus' proclamation in John 10 can harmonize the above two verses:

30 I and the Father are one.

That's a divine mystery.

So says the Apostle John about Isaiah's throne room vision .. Isaiah 6:1-4; John 12:41.

There is also this passage a bit later in Isaiah concerning the Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 9​

6 Unto us a Child is born,​

Unto us a Son is given;​

And the government will be upon His shoulder.​

And His name will be called​

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,​

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.​

7 Of the increase of His government and peace​

There will be no end,​

Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,​

To order it and establish it with judgment and justice​

From that time forward, even forever.​

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.​
