It is faith so to be of grace Rom 4:16
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,98
Grace comes before faith, that is believing faith is because of grace. Thats why believing faith could never be a reason for a person to boast. Faith/Believing is the gift of God, the effectual result of Salvation Eph 2:5, and Salvation is a Gift of Gods Grace. Phil 1:29
29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Matt 16:17
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Acts 18:27
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through or Because of grace:

Faith is of Grace, its a Gift of God lest any man should boast Eph 2:8

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
In Vs 8 the word that is a pronoun and it refers to both Grace and Faith in sync, for both Grace and Faith are not from ourselves, to denote the entirety of Salvation is the Gift of God, so no part of it can give us an reason to boast. We believe because of Grace Acts 18:27

Its the Faith of the New Creature, or the New Man Created in Christ Jesus. Its a Gift of God. Now what say you ?
that very verse says it’s not you’re faith???

Right, it didn't originate from the natural man, the flesh. Its the product of a new creation !

“Faith alone” accomplishes nothing!
1 cor 13:2 even all faith (alone) without charity avails NOTHING!!!
Faith and baptism!
Scripture says none of the things about “Faith alone”!
2 Peter 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Christian sacrament of baptism is the Initiation into the new covenant and must be ministered to you by the apostles!
These little nit picking word challenges must irritate God.
HE GAVE US HIS HOLY GHOST INSPIRED WORD AND THE SPIRIT TO TEACH US WHAT GOD IS SAYING.
Works of ourselves were given to us by Jesus !
Study it ! It is to be part of our journey after we receive the GIFT of salvation, which CANNOT be earned, bought, nor sold.
The works we are to do are enabled by the Holy Spirit with power and a desire to please God. The works of God are his and are done by the Spirit.
I cannot question nor know the motives of one who is feeding & clothing the homeless. I do not know why someone wants to show addicts a life free from the clutches of drugs and alchol or any addiction. Only one who see all the hearts can determine and either judge or reward such.
Letting the Holy Spirit bear HIS fruit through us is NOT work of ourselves .

Whosoever believing Jesus is the Christ is or has been born of God !
1 Jn 5:1

Again, believing on Jesus Christ, His Person and Offices and Saviour Vocation, is evidence that one has been born of God. See one doesnt believe in Christ to become born of God, but quite the opposite, but he believes because he has been born of God.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Notice the order here, sanctification of the Spirit [that's when one is born of God the Spirit and set apart] and belief of the Truth or Faith, that's when one believes ! Its plain that belief of the Truth is resultive of sanctification of the Spirit, hence, he that believes has been born of God.
The sanctifying work of the Spirit in bringing a sinner to belief of the Truth, is a Sovereign work of Grace, so its of faith so to be of Grace.
