The throne of David was never in the heavens. It is and was always an earthly throne

But David prophesied what God promised him which is that the Messiah would come from his line and would be raised up to sit on his throne. The Messiah is obviously Jesus. Is Jesus just an earthly King? No. He is a heavenly King who reigns at the right hand of the Father. So, why would you think that Jesus, a heavenly King, would literally sit on an earthly throne which would be beneath Him in more ways than one? Peter made it very clear that Jesus was RAISED UP to David's throne by way of being RAISED UP from the dead.

Breaking News! Jesus the Messiah has already come and roundly defeated His enemies and assumed the throne of David as Israel's true king.

David's throne was never some mystical metaphoric symbol for the heavenlies. It had physical structure with biblical defined boundaries.

2 Sa 3:10 To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

Paul joins Peter in relating the fulfilment of the Messianic enthronement to Christ’s current kingly reign in heaven. This truth is confirmed in Acts 13:22-23. Paul speaking to the religious Jews in Antioch says, concerning the promise of the Messiah and His rise to the throne of David, which was made unto their forefathers, “he (God) raised (aorist active indicative) up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Of this man’s (David’s) seed hath God according to his promise raised (aorist active indicative) unto Israel a saviour, Jesus.”

This Davidic reference was used by Paul to demonstrate (to his Israeli audience) that the much-anticipated eternal Davidic reign (prophesied for centuries in the Old Testament) had arrived in the form of Jesus Christ and His glorious resurrection. Christ was indeed Israel’s anticipated “king” and “saviour.” Premillennialists are selective in their interpretation of passages like this. The reason being: they have to be! Passages like this negate their doctrine. Whilst they except Christ as Israel’s current “saviour,” they do not except Him was Israel’s current ruling “king.” However, this text exposes their objection. This passage proves that Christ is presented as already perfectly fulfilling the Davidic expectancy.

We will not see the literal fulfillment until the 7th trumpet in Rev 11, where the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of Jesus.

Paul adds in Acts 13:26-30, “Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. But God raised him from the dead.”

No mention of David's throne...you are reading that into the text. The throne of David is not the resurrection nor is it in heaven. David was never resurrected yet he sat on a physical throne.

It is clear from this whole chapter that these misguided Jews still foolishly yearned for a coming Messiah who would one day reign upon a physical temporal earthly throne in Jerusalem, when He had in fact already come and rose to the heavenly Davidic throne. These earthly-minded Jews totally missed the hour of their visitation because of their false theology. They totally misunderstood who their Messiah was and what form His reign would look like. The sobering part of this text is, their misinterpretation of Scripture, and their false expectation, caused them to miss their Messiah. The fact is, He came to Israel and most Jews never even recognised Him for who He was. They had such a wrong perception of their own king.

No, it is not "clear" that the Jews were misguided by looking for a physical kingdom. Even the apostles did and if they were in error waiting for it we would have seen it here:

Ac 1:6-7 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

This clearly indicates there WILL be a physical restoration of the literal kingdom of Israel.

Paul then enlarges and explains, “And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers (speaking about the kingly Messianic reign that would usher from the seed of David), God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that [Psalm 2] he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise [His glorious rise to the throne], I will give you the sure mercies of David [quoting Isaiah 55:3]” (vv 32-34).

This is talking about the resurrection. Christ receiving "the sure mercies of David" was Christ rising up from the grave, ascending to heaven, taking the Davidic kingship, being enthroned on David's throne, installing Him in His rightful place of preeminence over Israel.

The Davidic kingship was never a spiritual kingdom. It was a physical one whose boundaries are well documented. Your interpretation is a fused amalgam of over spiritualization.

So, the promised Messiah has already come and taken the throne of David, although, evidently, not in the person or in the manner that the unbelieving Jews had carnally imagined. Paul here applies the Old Testament promises in Psalm 2 and Isaiah 55 to Christ’s death, burial and resurrection to the throne; and explains how such a prophecy has already been gloriously fulfilled. This is irrefutable evidence that these Old Testament prophecies relate to the intra-Advent period.

Colossians 1:18 describes Christ’s triumphant resurrection, saying, “he (Christ) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn [Gr. prootótokos] from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”

This passage, which is clearly referring to Christ’s physical resurrection, describes Christ’s status after triumphing over death and the grave as the prootótokos or put another way first begotten from the dead.

But is has nothing to do with the actual literal fulfillment of the physical kingdom of Israel. All of the prophecies of the first coming of Christ were literally fulfilled. He was born of an actual virgin...not some mystical symbol for Israel. He was born in literal Bethlehem...not some metaphoric symbol for His birthplace. He actually suffered and died on the cross...not some spiritual symbol for it...and finally, He was actually resurrected from the dead. Just as all of the prophecies of the first coming were literally fulfilled...so will all the prophecies of His second coming. There is no need to spiritualize them with an obsolete eschatological paradigm. Such a view was rendered null and void in May of 1948 when literal Israel once again became a nation.

So many people do not believe what God has said about the return of Christ.
They follow cleverly designed fables.

The do not believe in the resurrection and the Day of judgement is the Last Day when Christ returns to judge the living and the dead, and don't believe He returns in flaming fire to destroy all His enemies, and that His return is the end of this world. They believe unbelieving survivors live on the earth after the return of Christ.

They have fallen for Jewish myths about the kingdom of God.
They are not hearing from God but from the enemies of God.
They also love the world and their flesh and want both to continue on and on saying this earth has to continue on and experience what it would have been like without the fall in Eden.


2 Peter 3 WARNS us about such people, to not be like them.

There is no excuse for continuing to believe in fables about the Lord's return when God has clearly stated what will happen in the New Testament writings about the Day of Christ.

You going to believe what God has written? Or are you going to believe what people say.

People know nothing. God knows everything. And God told us what will happen.

Follow people, you will go down with the ship.

many sure seem to praise and follow men who lead in this interfaith . THAT IS OF ANTI CHRIST .
So let none here who name the name of Christ flock anywhere near those who do the work of interfaith .
Cause as you well said , WE darn sure dont wanna be praising anti christ ...........do we . We better watch out , be alert

Many often do that as well my friend . I say let us simply speak the Words of TRUTH to one another .
Always correct any and all sin and error when or if it is seen amongst the church .
And what i say to one i must say to all , beware of this interfaith interreligious snare and trap .
For i have seen what its key leaders do speak and it is truly of anti christ .
I seen them with my own eyes and i heard their words taken . They preach and do preach anti christ
to these false religions as well as to christendom . THEY do so in the name of what they so beleive
will usher in peace upon mankind , the middle east and the world .
I think this church age has forgotten that it is by peace that the dark one destroys .
Satan can make ANYTHING seem as though its for a good cause .
And GOD did say to not be unequally yoked for a reason . But satan will make it seem
as though its a necessity for us to be lined up with false religoins for a cause he claims WILL bring world peace .
HE is a tricky one and a seducer taken . HE knows HOW to lie and he knows how to seduce
and will make it seem as though its for the good of man .
JUST LIKE HE DID at the tree . NAY ye will not die , YE shall simply become as gods .
HE is a liar . There is no TRUTH in HIM or his men who do his work . Beware and be on gaurd .
