According to Jewish wedding tradition some have been trying to use that as an excuse to disregard prophetic Scripture about the time of our Lord Jesus' second coming and gathering of His Church.
Here's the order of the Jewish wedding tradition:
1. On the day of the wedding, the bride put on white robes and jewels covered with a veil and garland. The bridegroom dressed in his best with a headdress.
2. The bridegroom then went to the bride's house to gather her with her parents blessing. He was accompanied by his friends, muscians and singers, and if at night those with torches to light the way.
3. Then the whole group went to the bridegroom's house or his father's house, and other friends would join in on the way.
4. Then a feast at the bridegroom's or his father's house was held for the whole group.
5. In the evening, the bride was escorted to the nuptial chambers by her parents, and the groom by his friends or bride's parents.
6. The feast was then continued the next day unto seven days.
In our Lord Jesus' parable of the ten virgins per Matt.25, the ten virgins have lamps with oil in them in prep for the wedding, waiting for the Bridegroom (our Lord Jesus). Per the Jewish wedding if at night, they were to accompany the bride and groom with torches to his or his father's house.
In other words, those ten virgins are part of the wedding per the parable, but not the bride in the Jewish wedding tradition. Yet those ten virgins do... represent believers on Jesus per our Lord Jesus' parable. But our Lord was not speaking of the bride role there according to Jewish tradition. Nor is the bride a part of the Marriage-Supper parable our Lord gave.
Per the Marriage of The Lamb (Jesus Christ), here's who the Bride is...
Rev 21:9-10
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, "Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife."
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
(KJV)
Rev 21:2
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
(KJV)
With all the hoopla about Christ's coming to gather His Church as the Bride, and many that associate a Pre-trib rapture with it, it's all for nought, because per Scripture the real Bride of The Lamb Jesus Christ is the holy city New Jerusalem coming down from God out of Heaven.
How can that be? Back in Ezekiel 16 our Heavenly Father declared His love for Jerusalem, and how He cleansed her to make her His Bride. And He married her.
We as Christ's Church are represented as virgins espoused to one Husband (2 Cor.11), and God does use the idea of betrothing us to Him (Hosea), but when Scripture is specific about the Marriage and Wedding of The Lamb, His Bride is the New Jerusalem. And we as virgins with lamps and Oil to light the way are called to that Wedding and Marriage.
