Can you tell me what the shout box is for ? It will take me a while to find my way around here.
And, how do I get rid of the comments under my avatar? I didn't know they would show up when I wrote them!! Other people don't have such under theres...so it must be an option to allow them to be on the main page. Thanks.

Okay with people coming from CF&FF? Of course! :)

I left CF&FF simply because I had nothing more to say there, what I had to say was not accepted. So when I had done my time, I moved on. Now I'm here, and on some other sites. :)

The shout box is to... Shout your thoughts, or ask a question, or have a quick conversation, or post some news without opening a thread... Atleast it has been used for all those things! What exactly it is meant for, I am not sure, but it serves all those purposes.

I have the same thing under mine but I can't see anything under your avatar. I think we (and probably mgmt.) are the only ones that can see our own "join reason". You get use to it after while.

The shoutbox is just that. It's more of a place meant to shout, or say hello to other members and have more of a real-time chat interface (although we do have that too). It's not exactly the place of rigorous theological discussion, debate, etc etc.

Your join reason is completely private to everyone with the exception of the administration. We'll hopefully be removing that from posts shortly, though.
