Had a quick look through such a long thread. The gifts of the Spirit are something very important to the body of Christ, the church. Some may have more than one gift but you have to use those gifts to keep them in supply. I have found the gifts given according to the work we are called to do. It is clear the spostles had all the gifts of the Spirit. Their faith was great because they had been with Christ and seen him after his resurrection also witnessing all he did.Christ said, " He who believes in me shall do what I do, yea he will do greater things than I."So look at all Christ did, the gifts of God can be seen clearlyin believers but if someone has a gift you do not, how do you expect to understand this gift? The Spirit gives us what we need and shows us the things to come.John the Divine was the perfect example of this and he was the longest living apostle. People put alot of merit on Paul but the real teachings about Christs second coming was given to John not to Paul. Paul was a man of his time to call the gentiles to faith. But John the Divine and the apostles also had the knowledge of the future given to them and with Peter the Spirit gave him what was in the hearts and minds of others, as Sapphira and Ananais proves.Today we do not allow the Spirit to do his work within us. Christ taught about the 10 virgins that all had received the oil of the Spirit to light their lamps but not all continued in the way of the Spirit. The New Testament, highlights the truth that the things we speak of on these pages can only be received by the following of the Spirits leading. Galatians 5 shows us the difference of being in Spirit rather than living under the law.Ephesians 6 teaches us that the sword is the word of God which the Spirit gives us. Christ saying the Spirit will give us what to say. So being in Spirit means every believer who walks in the Spirit will have the wisdom of the sword given to him by God.But you do have to know God the supplier through Christ Jesus to be continually filled by believing the word already given in the bible. If you do not absorb and obey Gods teaching in his scriptures, how can you ever hope to receive more?Faithful.

You got that right we will all be held accoutable and you always say you are looking for truth but you refuse to belive anything that isnt your verson of truth I cant change what the greek says nor what scripture says you just keep going on about the truth when its right in front of you but you cant or wont see it. You want to blame me or convince me of your truth. If you think you know it fine stop trying to discuss it you already think you have the answer so whats to discuss
Again it comes down how we interprete the Bible. You say I do not believe anything that is not my version...I believe my version is from the Bible, just as you do. You say say that truth is right in front of you...I feel the same way toward your thinking. You say I want to blame you or convince you of my truth..I can say the same to you.You tell me to quit trying to discuss it...If you will re read the thread I was sharing what I learned. It was when you came in offensive that I started defending. Through this thread it has helped me to see clearer. Iron sharpens iron. Just because you did not persuade me to believe your way does not mean that God has not used this thread to teach, God used Wakka to help me over a hurdle of things I could not understand.( I can not thank you enough Wakka). No ones unbelief( I am not speaking of salvatin here) will persuade me to think there way....especially when God has already confirmed it in my life. What God has given me you are anyone else can not take it away. I wanted to share and you did not want to receive. I do not resent you for not receiving. I do resent that you call what I believe a lie...because in my heart I believe God gave this to me. I know as moderater you have a job to do on this forum. I do not know if I could do what you do here. But I am not a moderater-I came to share and learn. If you knew my past and knew the things God has changed my way of thinking on....well, you would not accuse me of not being willing to change. I have changed a lot from my leagalistic views! But because I blindly trusted man before.....I will not trust what man says without studing it and knowing it for myself/with the help of the Holy Spirit. BUT ONCE GOD PLANTS A TRUTH FROM THE WORD IN MY HEART..I WILL GAURD IT, AND NOT LET SATAN SNATCH IT OUT. Satan has tried hard to confuse me on this matter and discourage my searching out truth....I prayed a prayer for the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth and my faith has been in his word that says He will!I will answer any questions concerning my belief, because we are to study to show ourselves approved unto God(not man). But the theories of man will not honor God, therefor I will shun them....because there unbelief will try to overthrow my faith in what God has shown me.

How can you explain that our Lord never spoke in tongue in your view? He never spoke in tongue as men teaches today.
Jag, Jesus prayed for hours to the father...we are not told everything that Jesus did while on the earth. John 21:25 says...there are also many other things which Jesus did...if they should be written everyone....the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. What is the longest you have ever prayed at one time? I do not know about you, but I can not pray with my understanding very long because it is limited. I can pray for my whole family, friends, world conditions, repentence etc. and I do not think I could pray two hours in English(and that is stretching it.) But in the Spirit I can pray for hours. I am not saying Jesus prayed in tongues or if he needed to, I just know what I have learned the Bible teaches in context in Acts and 1 Cor.Did Jesus and the disciples fast? We know the disciples did after Jesus left.

How is the verse twisted? I did not use them to teach tongues, I just said that Jesus did more than what was recorded. If you would not have read my post blindly....you would have read that I do not know if Jesus spoke in tongues! So who is twisting whos words? I also see you avoided my questions, How long can you pray with your understanding of what you are praying?Did Jesus and the disciples fast?Jag, you have stated by your verses that tongues is a language, where in my post have I denied that it was not? You and Kriss seem to keep pushing this...You do not have to convince me that they are languages...I AGEE THEY ARE A LANGUAGE! Just not known by the one that is speaking...this is not saying it is an unknown language to the world-somewhere.

Thats exactly the point the bible says the gifts are for exactly the oppisite they are to convinve the unbelievers you just made my point.
That is not what this scripture says that I mentioned. I mentioned where Jesus went to his own hometown to Matt.13 and because the people did not believe...they did not see miracles. It is because people do not believe the word that they do not see Gods mighty works. You are talking of 1 cor. 14:22....Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that beieve not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. If you will notice that not all gifts are to convince the unbeliever...prophecy serves the believer. You have to understand prophecy in light of the scriptures to understand this or it will not make sense..on both tongues and prophecy.

Have you read the post? I never agreed with Kriss on this. This is not even about tongues. Please get your facts straight before you make acusations....This was about healing, my post was mis represented and I came back and corrected it. So you are saying that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit does not include tongues? I do not understand you position anymore.

Surely Jag knows what Christ prayed because Jag does know everything. [IMG]Honestly, I do know that Tongues are of the Holy Spirit. It was first through experience, then through faith. Then God unlocked scripture concerning tongues for me. You guys need to open your eyes!Mark 8:23-38 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. 24 And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” 25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. You do not see the clear picture. Go forward and receive the Holy Spirit.
