Actually, love is likeness, and what John said supports that the essence of love is likeness. Which would include image, or even image of likeness.

Hi there. I will go with you on this one. Realized a long time ago, that when it says in Genesis that God created man in His own image, in His own likeness, He wasn't talking about ANY physical attributes. He created him to BE like Hi and to do things the same way , just the same as God did. It does reveal to us that God, now our Father, IS Love, NOT has love but IS. He is the very source of everything, and it was Love that started it all of to begin with.... So cool !

I agree, He created us to be a reflection of Himself. Only Jesus has done it perfectly, and has always been the 'out-raying' of God's glory. Which is what it says in Heb 1
3 "Who being the brightness- [ out-raying..expression of the glory of God out-raying or radiance of the Divine, the perfect imprint of The Father]
-of his glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high".

Yes...God IS Love...and we are called to be so..."Love God , Love neighbour." On this hangs everything ....

He made Satan and Satan was removed from His Presence how did Jesus say it? like a bolt of lightening, I wouldn't call that love would you? but on the other hand, what does He do with that which is like unto Himself? doesn't He surround Himself with that which is like unto Himself in His sight? His Son like Him sits at His Right Hand, correct?

Hi Job....May I ask you, did you really just say ok to what DPMartin said because you agreed, or because you couldn't see a way in there? He forgot to mention it was Lucifer and those of the angels, who made a pact and went into the human women, thus corrupting the human race, even more than it already had been. Then ( Enoch writes about this ) Then when they realized the extent of their mistake, they petitioned Enoch to go beg God for their forgiveness, to intercede on their behalf, to which God said, that they should be the ones petitioning on behalf of humans. It mentions also in the new Testament, that they were punished because they didn't remain in their appointed 'place' ( and position perhaps?). Gods love is for mankind, who is able (and hopefully willing ) to truly love Him back. The Angels are different. Those who came to the earth, did untold damage to parts of the human race, I suspect even in their DNA, and after they were totally banished, they just became wanton destroyers of humans and all things human, never wanting us to become in the likeness of our Father, and they are doing a 'MARVELLOUS' job of that aren't they, tricking most of us a lot of the time, to get in agreement with them instead of God. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you mind?
