Luke 1:67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (Matthew 15:24). Jesus confirmed the promises made to the fathers of Israel (Romans 15:8); through Israel all the nations would be blessed (Genesis 18:18); Israel would be a peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation (Exodus 19:5-6)

Jesus came to die and shed his blood for the transgressions Israel committed under the old testament and to put in force the new testament (Hebrews 9:15-18 Matthew 26:28). Jesus will deliver his people.

1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

Jesus was made of the seed of David (Romans 1:3).

Jesus preached the coming Davidic kingdom (Mark 11:10 Matthew 4:23).

1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

The prophecies concerning Israel were spoken of since the world began; the revelations given to Paul of the gospel of the grace of God and the church, the body of Christ, were not prophesied, but hid in God from the beginning of the world (Ephesians 3:9).

1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

1:73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

God swore that he would bless and multiply the seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:16-17 Psalms 105:9-11) and give his seed the land (Genesis 24:7).

1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
