It is a commandment given to Israel to represent God before all nations, to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength", that they would fulfill all that He had chosen them to do. The context is of living in the world and how we may pass from death in this world unto eternal life according to God's promise: "Love the Lord your God."
“You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land into which you are about to cross to possess it;”

My understanding of the context of Deuteronomy 11:8 would read this way: -
This makes more sense to me, particularly in today's troubles as we draw nearer to the end of the fourth age of the visitation of the father's iniquities upon their children's children. After the time of the Gentiles comes to its completion then God will implement His promised Covenant of Peace with the nation of Israel by the fulfilment of Isaian 25:21-22 with the removal of the evil beasts from the face of the earth for many days with their imprisonment before the little while which will be completed with their final punishment.

6:1 "Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land/country which you are crossing over to possess, 2 that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you — 'a land/country flowing with milk and honey.'
4 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

I know it takes up room on the parchment, and parchment is expensive, but, man, those Greeks should've invented punctuation instead of prancing around naked together in the gymnasium. One little comma could've cleared this up.
I checked Bible Hub, and EVERY single English translation has the comma before "today". (Which doesn't mean they're not mutually influenced by earlier translations.)
I also checked the Greek via Blue Letter Bible, and while my textbook says Koine Greek word-order is more fluid and not as important as it is in English, ...
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ἀμήν λέγω σοι σήμερον μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἔσῃ ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ
Literally, "And said to him the Jesus truly I say to you today with me you shall be in the paradise".
But I do hear the faint echo of Deuteronomy 6:6.

But, I see your link to Deuteronomy 6:6.
In my school days we called it the “holy translator’s comma”.
Translators have a choice to make. They place the comma where it fits their bias.
The bias of most translators is their belief in the immortal soul. It’s easy to see where they would place the comma.
The obvious problem is that Jesus was in the grave, not in paradise, that day. And the next day. And the next day.
It doesn’t make sense to place Jesus and the thief where they weren’t.
Place the comma after the word “today” and Jesus and the thief are where they were when they were buried.
Some say it doesn’t make sense for Jesus to say “I tell you today” - and that it why I used the verse in the OP to show that it does make sense.
God can and will be in more than one location at a time. (Omnipresence)
If God rested every Sabbath the sun and moon would not rise. Your life would end and you would be unable to draw your next breath. (God is omnipotent....meaning your next breath is not at His acquiescence but His active support)
Both of these things together stem from God's Sovereignty. Because IF God were not Sovereign then He would not be worthy of worship. (But He is)

I’m a Jewish monotheist. And I don’t believe the dead are alive until they are made so by means of bodily resurrection from the grave.
I’m going to mess with the comma now, using the argument that it doesn’t make sense to say “I tell / command you today,” -
“These words, which I am commanding you, today shall be on your heart.”
(Deuteronomy 6:6, SUV - screwed up version, not sports utility vehicle)
Does that make sense? Was what he commanded on their hearts that day?
Now I understand that this is an abbreviated answer....(so was your previous one)
BUT
This (and your previous reply) really doesn't address the assertions I've made.
You are going to have to prove to me how:
1) God is not omnipresent.
2)God is limited by time.
3)God is not omnipotent
4)God is not Sovereign
Which is what the reasonable conclusions are that can be made from your statements.
Because I do believe that "God is One"
I'm not a Pantheist or Modalist. Only ONE God. (He is just amazing and beyond our understanding)

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, your knowledge of Jewish monotheism is inadequate.
The God of Jewish monotheism is the Messiah’s God and Father.
Since Jesus claimed to be God many times in many ways its conceivable that God is Jesus and Jesus is God. Jesus might not have been the totality of God (God is infinite)....but was in essence God.
Nothing us impossible for God. (Unless you believe something is impossible for God....like a small portion of himself appearing in the flesh while still operating the Universe)
