What is a 'ongoing believer.' The ongoing believer or a ongoing believer is a believer that trusts the word of God and will be led by the scriptures. But the ongoing believer, they stay with the word to learn and grow - they are 'avid Bible students.' To put it plain they have a hunger that maybe others don't have at the time. Avid students of the word can come under discretion because as you search the scriptures and learn the mind of God - for the scriptures are the mind of God which are infinite. You come to some conclusions from time to time.
You will be scrutinized for several reasons but mostly because others that do not have that hunger as you at the time will scrutinize you. But regardless the hunger keeps the believer moving on in God - there is nothing like a hungry Heart to keep a individual scratching out what it is the scriptures have to say to those that would "have an ear to hear what the Spirit would say to the church."
Because it will be by the Spirit when it is revealed to you what it is in the same passage you've read time and time again, and get a different understanding from time to time - that is the scriptures leading you - a light for your path a lamp unto your feet.
You do not stay stuck in some so-called humdrum form of religion or man doctrine or man thoughts and ideas and instructions but sound Spirit taught knowledge. As we have quoted before 'when brilliance ends Revelation begins.' Trusting the Holy Spirit can be difficult at times for the simple reason 'there are many voices out there.' And they all say! 'this is what scripture says to do.' Including myself. I get that and know that no one really wants to be told what to do. Their correct in that, it will keep them in many instances from some bad roads, but a time will come when you will have to trust the Spirit. That is where we get in trouble because most of us have our guard up we have either been misled or abused by some organization or we are locked into what we believe unmovable so we are very cautious - it's ok he will not give you a rock when you ask for fish or bread. The Spirit is not abusive.
The scenarios in a believer's life are endless. An ongoing believer has usually 'had it', had enough and have come to an 'end of self' and they are ready to move on in God even if they do not understand what that means. Most I Know that have moved on in God (it is God that takes an individual on in him) have came that way, including myself.
There is an end - it is in a package, if you will, that no one is looking for. Because the package comes in the form of a person and that person has to be revealed, no other way according to scripture and the knowledge of Revelation itself says He is (Christ in you as life) - the answer for that hungry heart, that searching - longing to know, what it is the father has done and is doing and all there is for you to know brings a rest for the weary.
Bless you as you move on 'in our father.'
