Yes, that might not have been a bad idea. I guess you are not used to people talking plainly. But, if I have typed it on an open forum, I meant it to be read.

Oh okay....well Glory...it is a testimony that gives God the Glory and thank you for being willing to allow others to witness it.

Personally, I think that is the very reason we were told to "confess your sins, one to another." I doubt it had a thing to do with someone else having some sort of power to absolve sin. I think we were told to do that so that others don't have to hide their weaknesses in shame, hearing (reading) that all the rest of us are just as fallible.

I totally agree....I have been very transparent on things in my life on this forum....sometimes to my regret...however it is God who gets the Glory and others receive hope for their own struggles when they hear/read the testimony of others who have overcome.

I went through something like this after my wife died. The thought of food made me gag, so I stopped eating and lost 70lbs. I finally fell on the floor and couldn't get up, but I was able to reach a phone and call for help.

I spent the next two months in the hospital, and from what my family tells me, they didn't expect me to live. They insisted that I be only be discharged to a long term care facility, and not to my home. The day before discharge, I got my kids to come to the hospital and successfully rescue me, and take me home.

I now force-feed myself when necessary, but I have been doing pretty well over the past year or so.

Prayers for you Stan, I know we talked on another post about this...it is beyond understanding how we can grieve ourselves even unto death.
I suppose that is why God is near to those with a broken heart and a contrite spirit....
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.- Psalm 34:18

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.- Psalm 147:3

I think you know I spent 24 years facilitating group therapy sessions for Sex Offenders (Yes, Rapists, Child Molesters and Porn Addicts) Doing that for so long, you tend to become pretty open and frankly direct about what you say.

If we ever expect to do much of what Jesus did, we are going to have to get past being afraid of MANY subjects. I mean I even got shut down for daring to mention something "taboo" on here.... yet, it was one of the prominent topics of the Bible.

Good to have 'you' back Bill. x

You have always been a down to earth open guy...which is what I too like.
I hate all the masks that some wear and hide behind.

But I must say I prayed as much for your awesome wife as I did for you...she is a champ. She was most probably much kinder, more loving and patient with you while you were being 'challenged' than I would have been with my Dave. ♥︎

H&S, Thank you. Although I have VERY strong faith, it doesn't take the pain away. It has been 5 years now, and my morning challenge is now how to deal with the loneliness and isolation of each new day; and the corona thingy hasn't helped at all! :) Another challenge faced with people in my position, is figuring out a reason for even getting out of bed in the morning. :)

When God took my wife from me (temporarily), while it's a long story, I know He did the right thing at the right time. I just thank him every day for His gift of the 50 years He gave us together.

Wow Stan. You are learning daily how to be an Overcomer...and Jesus speaks highly in REV of "to him who overcomes ..."
It is not for nothing that every morning is a challenge. No challenge= No victory. Well done thou good and faithful servant.

As you have said @Heart2Soul many of us have shared our hearts and been transparent on this Site only to be ripped up by some..it causes us to withdraw behind our avatars and just become "posters" rather than real people with like challenges.

I bet you had no idea when you asked about the multi tabs on your computer that you would end up drawing out this open depth of sharing here.

We are all well aware that the Welcome board is not the place for this depth of sharing...yet if a thread for this kind of 'open' posting was started I doubt it would ever have been as spontaneous as this one turned out to be. :)

I have an idea as to how difficult that can be. My DIL, a clinical and forensic psychologist was totally unprepared for her stint in prison dealing with primarily fathers and grandfathers who had molested their own progeny. As I learned of her experience, for her sake, I resolved to never be alone with my granddaughters unless my wife was always present. :-(

Of all her venues, coming from a whitewashed one-stoplight town, I think this was the most difficult for her.

You are right about Sue — 100%. I am positive that she feels God put her in my life because He knew how emotionally and psychologically messed up I am, and that all the many times that my instability has erupted, I was going to need a rock and anchor like her. Frankly, she should have left me to wallow in my own ______ many times over.

From my experience, I fully believe God definitely has the perfect mate designed for each of us. God gave me someone perfectly designed for me. Sure, we had some rough times, but in the end, we became the undivisive single unity God had planned from the days of the foundation of this world.

Willie, you are not at all alone in your difficulties. Life is tough.

After being kicked out of my home to celebrate my 16th birthday, I was left to fend for myself all alone on the streets of Toronto as a 'street kid'. Somehow, in the limitations of that social setting, I found a church, and found the Lord.

I have a clear recollection of the day in Sept 1962, asking God for HIS choice of career and spouse for me. As a mechanic, my desire was to work for an insurance company. Turned down by the 80 companies I applied to God intervened. It was on Christmas weekend when I went out to my car in -20 degree weather to listen to the service from my church back in Toronto. My car, being an English Austin which was not designed to operate in Canadian winters, only got a couple of blocks before it died. Before I could get it restarted, I was rear ended by the only other vehicle on the road that cold Christmas morning.
An unpleasant incident, but the start of God's plan for me.

Unable to get the accident claim settled, I went to the head office of the insurance company responsible for settlement of the claim. Having accomplished settlement of the claim, the claims manager called me back as I was leaving, "Have you ever considered working for an insurance company??" Wow! God in action again. This was the most reputable company in the industry!

A few months later, as I started my new job, the first thing my new boss did, was to take me to an entirely different department to meet someone special, the wife God had chosen for me. I dated her, and three weeks later, we were engaged to be married. As my wife and I discussed in later years, because she had never had any kind of connection whatsover with my boss. I can only interpret that as the hand of God again at work!

She wasn't even a Christian when I met her. When I explained the Gospel message to her, she exclaimed "Wow, that is what I have been looking for my entire life! It wasn't a conversion of mere convenience. She moved on to help create Christian Women's Club in our community, of which she served a term as president. But from that group, she created a 'neighborhood' Bible study group, who she led for 35 years.

God provides in according to His perfect will. And His perfect will is that husband and wife become unified as one being. I have been through that, and under God, we eventually became ONE unified being in accordance with God's plan for us.
