I thought maybe more of a explanation was necessary;

I’m not belittling what Christ did for us. For He is our Savior, for without Him, all was lost.

But God’s love sent Jesus to destroy the works of the devil, (all of them for creation itself will be redeemed) , and it was our births out from Adam that which is that life which separated us from God. So that life needed to be dealt with. Which life was encluded when Christ died on the cross. Which is how Christ reconciled us to God. He came to take us to death with Him on the cross so we might be born again and have a new nature that scripture calls the “Divine Nature” for that nature sins not. Growing in Christ is that nature growing in us to the degree that it rules all things.

Hope this helps a little.

Blessings as we press into Christ that our births out of Christ would grow and mature and be pleasing to God in all things.

This truth of there being “no good thing in me” is a truth that will set the heart free from looking to itself.

Oh, that God would open up our hearts, so we learn this truth, in a new, deeper, more intimate, and awesome and real way.

It's from the inside outwards that the Spirit of God brings about the change. :)

wadr in the sense you are meaning it God does not do jack, ok, this is where it is finished should be applied imo. "God" is all done doing all He is ever, ever ever, going to do for you, imo. Now dont get me wrong i still agree with the words, ok, the words are awesome. But this thinking that God is going to do something despite you is just wrong imo. You are free to beg Jesus and God to work a change in you, and then go right back to the world and keep doing what you are doing, and i'm pretty sure "God" is not going to lift a finger, even a pinkie, ok. As much as may think we change ourselves and as much as might try to be better people, in the end, unless it is the Holy Spirit that has brought about that change - that bearing of spiritual fruit in us - it will not last and we will soon revert to our old ways. That inner change that makes us a new creation in Christ, must be God's work.
