I hear what you're saying H2S. Isolating the antichrist to the geography of Israel and the deception of the Jewish people is kinda limiting don't you think? Isn't it the whole world that he deceives? So who will be looking for the Messiah to soon appear? We know the Jewish people are preparing for the first coming of the Messiah. The rest of us, the Gentiles, are awaiting His 2nd coming, the return of Jesus Christ. Both Jews and Gentiles are eagerly waiting. Jesus told His disciples that when you see the abomination of desolation, as spoken by Daniel, then look up for your redemption draweth nigh.
So what I see is 2 groups of religious people anticipating Jesus, the Messiah, to arrive soon. Some will be deceived and worship the false Messiah because they were blind and ignorant of what the Word told us.
The antichrist will enter the Holy Temple, and declare himself as the Messiah.
This is why I beleive the antichrist will come from a religious power....declaring himself to be the Messiah.
And what is he really up to? He is out to deceive as many believers as possible and cause them to bow down and worship him.
I would leave politics out of the topic of the antichrist. It's about deceiving God's chosen people, the Jewish people of Israel.
I am not trying to convince anyone to see it the same as I do. It's up to you and whatever you choose to believe. I am simply sharing what I believe.
